One More Thing: Drudgework Chariot (Patreon)

Greetings Adventurers,

The third in our line of Drudgework creations, the Chariot is meant for the busy adventurer on the go. You have places to be and people to see so you can hop right in one of these convenient modes of conveyance to get yourself from place to place in a hurry. With their built in communication network, they'll always keep you on the fastest route... Just don't get in front of one.

Design notes from Matthew:

Okay one of the coolest things about the setting we're making these for is that the entire city is wheelchair accessible so one of the things we wanted to do was make sure that any transportation constructs we made would also be accessible. The chariot worked out perfectly for that as we were able to write in a way to get folks of any ability on and around the city. That was a super fun challenge to write and something I hope to do more of in the future.

Designing the abilities for this were pretty straightforward as I wanted to focus everything around speed. Giving it the ability to move rapidly, to move away from attacks, to bowl through difficult terrain, everything about it was made to keep up speed and to make it a difficult thing to combat as its always just running past you faster than you can react. It requires players to set up traps for example.

I would absolutely love to use a set of these in a chase scenario with people slinging arrows and magic toward one another. That just seems like it would be a blast.

We definitely have a few more Drudgework creatures up our sleeves and we're excited to keep putting them out. It's been a blast getting to work in a theme for a bit and really delve into the more detailed parts of a society. We hope you've enjoyed them as well.
