Ancient bloodlines stretch back to the formations of these worlds. Intrinsically tied to the forces within, they course with magical energies. These bracelets used to be common amongst those that had the ability to touch the leylines of the world’s energies, but sadly most have been lost or destroyed by the ravages of time. How did we come across this one you might ask? Well we found a skeletal arm hanging out of some rubble with it on. Did I mention that it doesn’t protect from death?

Design notes from Matthew:

Something to know about me is that I have a doc file that is filled with just the most random stuff.There’s half baked ideas for dice systems, rules that I want to mess with in various games, no less than 3 unfinished board games, a hack for a system I saw in 2016 that I’ve never heard of anyone playing. Look there’s a lot of weird stuff in that dock and sometimes I scroll through it looking for weird ideas. This item’s mechanics started with that. I simply had a note that said “Metamagic, mess with that”, so I did!

I really like the concept of metamagic. It’s a great way to allow a sorcerer to bend their casting into something more interesting. That said, it’s already an extremely powerful mechanic so I knew that if I gave it more, this would have to be a very high level item. I didn’t think that was a bad idea though. We create things from all over the power spectrum afterall.

I’ll admit, my creativity has been sapped a little lately by the ongoings with the OGL, but I’m feeling a lot better and I think it definitely shows in the flavor of the writing here. I love the part about you joining the bangle eventually to be one of the voices. I just felt great about that.

We’ve been doing a few items more focused on enhancing and playing around with various class mechanics. I don’t know how long that will continue, but I’m having a blast getting to play around with individual class mechanics. We’ll probably have at least one more like that next week. We’ll see.
