Greetings adventurers!

You know, some people just really have to make themselves the talk of the town. They demand to have the latest and greatest in their wardrobe and for some that leads them to rather questionable decisions. Decisions like strapping conductive elements to your shoes and walking around town with electrical pops coming from your feet, lighting up the area. Sure everything went well with these, until someone took a brief jog and touched an armored guard. It was as shocking for you as it was for me I think. Either way, now these shoes have made their way into our care. Just watch out for any thick pile carpeting please.

Design notes from Matthew:

Alright this has been one that I’ve been wanting to make for far too long. The idea of getting your step on with some static electricity buildup and discharging it is just TOO FREAKING COOL. Ugh, we had something similar with another piece in the past but it was only a small portion of it. The idea of movement = mechanics is something that I really want to celebrate and explore more. I think we can find so much more to make when we just use unexpected things as mechanics.

When I started on this one, I had this idea of building up (literal) charges and then expending them, but I realized it just made it too complicated. It became better to just track your movement over time and then generate a condition that you would gain when you reached a certain distance. It’s much easier to use and certainly more player friendly at the table.

I realized that just building up and hitting might not always been the best option for some use and I always like the ability to make the battlefield more dynamic, so I included the teleport ability to give it something a little more special and promote battlefield creativity. Overall we landed in a really nice place in my opinion.

This is one of those ones that has been in the pipeline for awhile and I’ve wanted to make sure that we eventually got it out. Fernando crushed the art on these. They’re like light up sneakers only ya know, completely unsafe!
