Greetings adventurers!

The power of the sun above, a truly radiant thing to marvel at though not for too long. The blinding aura of it has inspired many magical creations over the years, so when I was approached by a particularly sun loving paladin in a white tabard with a green feathered set of shoulderguards, I knew that I could put together exactly what he wanted. We settled on a staff for a multitude of reasons and I knew I had just the gem to plop in the middle. He never did come to pick it up, which was quite disappointing as I was looking forward to seeing if he would praise the staff as well.

Our patrons get early access to all of these items as well as additional formats that are easily usable in both physical and online play for D&D and Pathfinder 2E. Additionally they get high-res art exports, easy to use text exports, behind the scenes updates, and a lot more.

If that strikes your fancy, consider becoming a Patron

Design notes from Matthew:

Designing for two different systems sometimes means that the items are entirely different from one another depending on which systems we’re talking about. This is one such case where you end up just needing to essentially write two different items entirely. I knew this was coming as I was aware of the stave rules and balance in PF2E, but you know there’s always still work to come along with things like that. I do think we landed somewhere decent on each version though.

In 5E there’s no real hard and fast law for staves. Most of them have charges but some of them don’t. Most of them have unique abilities but some of them don’t. Most let you cast some spells, but some of them don’t. It ends up being a bit more wild west in that way which did allow me to make something unique for the 5E version. Basically a 2 part usage that spreads daylight and ignites weapons of your allies. I was pretty happy with it being a slightly unique use of a staff.

In the PF2E system there are some hard and fast rules for what staves are and I definitely wanted to adhere to that. This came down more to spell choice than anything else and I wanted something that thematically worked on all levels. Thanks to the exhaustive spell list in PF2E I was able to really pick and choose thematically appropriate spells that end up giving this a special feel even while within the staff framework.

It’s our first release of August and I’m so excited to get into this month of content. We have some really great items coming this month (I know because I’ve seen them!) and I think they could find an easy home in a lot of campaigns.

We highly encourage you to join our Discord server where you’ll get access to exclusive channels that have sneak peeks, behind the scenes chatter, and more.
