Happy Holidays Supporters!

I have an early Christmas Present in the form of three early access videos for you today, as part of my MD to Daz Studio series. All videos deal with the same thing, namely fixing automatically generated Corrective Blend Shape morphs, but each one deals with doing this tricky business in a different 3D application. We all need a little practice, and not every 3D app is everyone’s cup of tea, so watch them all and see which method you prefer.

Each method has pros and cons: Hexagon is free, super easy to use and well integrated with Daz Studio, but a little outdated and limited in its features. ZBrush has an interface from another planet, it’s expensive to rent, but it’s insanely powerful and saves a lot of time due to its fantastic integration with Daz Studio. Blender is free and powerful, but it can be daunting to learn and there’s no native Morph Loader integration with Daz Studio.

In other news, earlier today I’ve posed a quick video on Artstation called Jay’s Saloon. It’s a new holding loop for my Christmas and New Year streams made in Unreal Engine. It was quite a bit of work to get it looking as good as it does, and I had the idea turn it into a 2-hour loop with chillaxing lo-fi holiday music. It’ll be a nice background artwork we can have running while doing 3D work.

The compilation is rendering as I type, it’ll be around 20GB in size and probably be available tomorrow once the upload and processing on YouTube is complete. I might turn it into a premiere so we can hang out in chat and shoot the breeze.

Until then 👋
