Sometimes you find a feature and you can't quite believe it's been  there for like... ever. This tends to happen in Daz Studio, and applying  poses partially is one such thing. Having been a core feature in Daz  Studio since version 4 released some 15 years ago, it's as easy as  selecting say a shoulder, then applying a full body pose and only the  shoulder/arm/hand will be changed.

Pure Voodoo Magic you say?  It's all thanks to that hidden "hold CTRL down while you load a pose"  menu. I've previously explained how this hidden gem can prevent  characters from moving into the furthest outskirts of the 3D world, but  examining it closer there is indeed a "selected" option that will do  just that: apply the pose to whatever node is selected in your scene. It  also works with multiple nodes, like two shoulders or both legs.

Enjoy!

In  other news, Daz have decided to release Genesis 9 before my  Masterclass, as they want to make sure the launch goes well. That makes  sense, watch out for "new items" in your Install Manager and those  emails. Rumour has it G9 and Victoria 9 will be with us this week - but  psst, you didn't hear it from me! Once the dust settles on the new  figure, it's time for the Masterclass to show everyone how to do things  with... Genesis 8 😅 Thankfully it's about general usage and most of it  is not figure specific.

And before I go: yesterday I've managed  to install Daz Studio on my Steam Deck and... IT WORKS! I'll tell you  all about it in my next post.

Loading Partial Poses in Daz Studio

In this episode I'll show you a way to load poses partially onto selected parts of a figure. This is one of those Voodoo Magic tricks that has been in Daz Studio...
