Today I have a half hour Crash Course on Texture Painting in Blender for you! It's something I've been exploring for a while on and off, and it turns out it's not a simple thing to explain. The concept is  easy enough, but there are so many Blender intricacies I had to mention that it turned into a longer and more difficult video that I had  imagined it to be.

During the recording a lot of things went wrong, and I wasn't sure if I could edit something that's fit for release, hatching plans to start over. I was already half way through  the editing process and thought I'll at least finish it before making  any rash decisions, and it turns out with the "wrong bits cut out", it's relatively decent after all.

It's the magic of editing and it  applies to any medium: remove what doesn't work, and you're left with  good stuff. This means that during the editing process, you'll see a LOT  of junk, and the trick is to not let that discourage you. Think of 3D art: you work on a scene, try 20 different things, 19 of them are  mediocre, but you'll refine that one render until you get something  handsome.

Texture painting can also be done in other applications, and I'm planning to show the concept in Substance Painter and perhaps  even Blacksmith3D as there are not a lot of videos about it out there.

Including  this one, I now have three videos ready for release without thumbnails.  Let's see if we can make those together in a live stream or two. ☺️
