In this early access episode I'll explain the concept of Git Version Control, and how we can make use of it in Unreal Engine. Version Control is super useful for all kinds of applications, including arbitrary working folders for Daz scenes, Photoshop files and so forth.

I'll talk about the principles, show a working concept with a text file, then move on to showing the steps that are necessary to place an existing Unreal Engine project under Version Control.

The two things you'll need to make this work are

I'll make this video live sometime next week, as soon as I find some inspiration for a thumbnail. I'll also add chapter points to the YouTube release as I think this might be a bit "too wordy" for the Instagram generation.

Daz Masterclass Update

Meanwhile, in Jay's Daz Masterclass, I'm happy to tell you that I've finished the episodes about working with the Geometry Editor, Hexagon, ZBrush and Blender. The total running time is now a whopping 11 hours and 40 minutes! I'll finish off the episodes about Marvelous Designer and Photoshop this week, and that should wrap up Part 2.

If you haven't already, head over to my early access page and browse the videos while you can (I'll have to take those down when the course is available on the Daz store I'm afraid, due to the exclusivity agreement). Please let me know if you have any feedback while I have a  chance to fix it ;-)

Health Update

Yesterday Julia and I got our COVID booster shots. While I felt great yesterday, I'm super tired and exhausted today. Julia had a flu-like reaction pretty much right away, while I didn't feel a thing (not even the needle prick) until late into the night. This reminds me a bit of chemotherapy: you feel nothing during the infusion, but much later things start catching up.

I'm sure I'll be back to my old self by the weekend or even tomorrow. I might even be in the mood for a silly game of Grand Theft Audio on Twitch sometime this afternoon. Apparently they've developed a remastered version of the first three games here in my "immediate neighbourhood" of Gainsville, FL! Who knew GTA HQ is right around the corner, ey? (OK fine, they're 300 miles north from us, but that's still closer than Scotland).

Have a wonderful week everyone!

I'm looking forward to the peek into the workings of Git. I've always been a lone wolf programmer that has never used any real version control, so this will be new to me.
