Hello Supporters!

Today I have a cute little animation for you that I've started on Saturday during the Daz+ live stream. I was showing how to use Limb Stick to animate a Genesis 9 figure using IK chains, and how to transfer an animation from Daz Studio into Unreal Engine. The concept worked so well that I spent a few hours polishing it off into what you see here.

I was able to utilise several new animation features in Unreal Engine 5.4, specifically the new Layered Control Rigs option to add tweaks on my Neanderthal 9 character directly in Sequencer. This is a seriously rad feature that works great with smaller and more specific Control Rigs. Neander Surfer is wearing an old Genesis 2 outfit with some poke through fixes, and he's happily surfing in Fluid Flux (that's the realistic water product I'm using here). Enjoy!

I'm thinking of doing a "post mortem" type video breakdown on how I've made the whole thing before I forget. If you're interested, please let me know in the comments. I'm also thinking of replacing the establishing wave footage with something more high-res, but this will work just fine for now I think.

In other news, I've had my colonoscopy last week Monday, and sadly it didn't go well. Not medically speaking, so there's no sign of new cancer or anything, but it didn't go well from a technical point of view. I've used a new bowel prep medication called Sutab that was supposed to clear out my colon over the weekend, but apparently it didn't do such a great job and my doctor couldn't see as well as he needed to. Looks like I was still just too full of shit, even though it certainly didn't feel that way.

Jokes aside, the trouble is that I need to repeat the procedure, and I'm hoping that the insurance will approve it again so soon after the last one - you know how funny they can be about that. I'll keep you posted on how this goes.

Have a great week, and if you're free, join me on Saturday for a bit of Viewfinder fun from 5pm EST on YouTube.

Neander Surfer Demo - Daz Studio/Unreal Engine Animation

Here's a polished version of the Neanderthal 9 Surfer Demo I've started on Saturday's Daz+ stream. I've added Fluid Flux as a backdrop, added some facial expressions and adjusted some of the animation with layered control rigs in UE. I might record a "behind the scenes" video to show how it's done. Enjoy!
