Saving Clothing Items in Daz Studio (Patreon)
Content
Hello Supporters! I've spent the weekend recoding and editing several more instalments in our little MD to Daz series, for a total of 5 new videos! Three of which are English and two are in German, and I'm still polishing off a few edits on the last two, but here's what's finished for your viewing pleasure.
This part deals with saving out our entire garment so that it becomes distributable, and it's a little complex. We need to create a new folder structure, map it in Daz Studio, make sure the textures are in that folder, then applied from there to our garment, and finally we save the whole thing out with a relatively complex Daz function. This is necessary to create a distributable folder that others can add to their library.
For the English version I've split this out into two videos, while the German version has it all in one episode:
- Adding Materials: https://vimeo.com/922068959/54480b8e38
- Saving the outfit: https://vimeo.com/922068993/41d8bbdc8a
- German Version (combined): https://vimeo.com/922068649/1d1a52ee74
The next episode deals with saving full body corrective morphs to our setup, after which it's ready for distribution.
I'm planning on making one final instalment in the series that deals with sending the whole outfit over to Unreal Engine and applying some animations. It's going to be a beefy one, and I might split this into two parts, the second of which focusses on rendering the animation out. I haven't seen many tutorials dealing with that side of Unreal Engine.
Got to dash off to the dentist now, for the appointment I was supposed to have last week (I'm getting my third crown at the bottom left). Wish me luck!
