YAY. I've been waiting for more folks to react to this. Another underreacted to show that are AWESOME from ep 1 are Mayonaka Punch and Too Many Losing Heroines. I heavily recommend them if your schedule ever has room.

I will do Mayonaka Punch tomorrow! I really doubt I will have time to squeeze Losing Heroines into it, but I've seen some clips from episode 1 and it looks stunning!

Glad to see you picked it up, it is a pretty good comedy even for someone like me who never really got into vtubers. About a few things you said, the anime is based on a light novel, so not being used to promote new vtubers like you thought. The videos you mentioned is probably the creators of the anime doing 4th wall breaking stuff, like how in jellyfish there was an actual jelee twitter account, they updated the mvs on youtube, etc. The censored word on ep 1, gu**ing is supposed to be gushing. And yes, the vtubers looking the same even on "real life" is supposed to be just a visual representation (probably with the idea that doesn't matter who is behind the character?). The LN does something similar in that on scenes when not streaming, it describes the characters as they are supposed to look normally, but any illustration has them looking like the vtuber models.
