Yea I've watched this show at least 50 times. Its just sooo good and you pick stuff up on with almost every rewatch. This episode made Kyubey the used car salesman into the most hated anime character of all time. Now we do get a lot of info on the other characters but Sayaka is the one that is shown most straight forward. If you look at Madoka, she is very nice and wants to help everyone. But she has a hard time making decisions for herself, wanting others to make them for her (he mom choosing the ribbons for her, Mami choosing her wish). The only real decision we see Madoka make was wanting to be a magical girl but every time she gets close Homura stops her(Which we could say that it's Homura forcing that choice on her). With Homura we see that she's obsessed with Madoka but gets angry when Madoka is nice to her, while also having a cold demeanor to her(until this episode). Also she only warned Madoka not to be a magical girl and not Sayaka and when Sayaka became a magical girl she tells Madoka to give up on sayaka. Oh and also that she knows more than she lets on but she is designed to be a mystery. Our first impression of Kyouko is that she is a selfish, hot headed character who eats all the time. But in episode 6 she talks to Sayaka and we find out that she does actually care, at least a little bit. We also learn why she constantly has food every time she shows up on screen. But yeah I can see how details get missed because Sayaka's character arc is like a blazing bonfire besides all these smaller fires. OH! Kyubey does a little word play with the how magical girls/witches thing. In japanesse witch is Mojo while magical girl is Maho Shojo. And the convo on the train was an actual convo the writer overheard one day. But I'm loving your reactions man! (the ending was great XD) Also just a reminder for episode ten, make sure you pay close attention to the op and ed lyrics for episode 10.
