Fightful Select had the opportunity to talk with Julius Creed at WWE Royal Rumble Media Day.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp mentioned to Julius how he met him and his brother Brutus at a tryout a few years ago. Julius told Fightful a lot has changed since and that life in the WWE moves at supersonic speed. He said that his day-to-day life still feels the same while everything is different.

Sean asked him about his thoughts on potentially working a UFC match in the future.

Julius said, “I had this idea driving down last night, ‘If I get a question on media day, I’m going to spin it as anybody that works for TKO or Endeavor can get it.’ It’s been a lifelong dream.”

Sean mentioned the possibility of a WWE-UFC crossover. Julius said it seemed so far-fetched at one time. Julius would talk about his time training with Daniel Cormier, Luke Rockhold, and Cain Velasquez. He noted that he still stays in contact with some of them. Julius said the plan at the time was to go make a big name for himself in the WWE and then go over to fight in the UFC. Julius said, “Now that both (WWE & UFC) are real possibilities and everything is coming to light.

Julius recalled taking a picture once when he was at Daniel Cormier’s home. He said he took a picture of the UFC Championship and WWE Championship together, and posted on social media, ‘Decisions.’ He said when the TKO merger was announced, he reposted that again. Julius told Sean that he is passionate about what he is doing and is excited to be on the WWE front.

The topic of finishers came up and Julius talked about how they started with the Cannonball at Stand & Deliver; when we needed to wipe people out. Julius mentioned that Brutus is like a big bowling ball and he told us about a time in a match, Julius had someone up on his shoulders, and said instead of doing a Doomsday like most people do, Brutus decided to jump on their opponent and Julius in the process. Julius said a lot of things they do, they look back, and you’re like, “That was so stupid.”

Sean asked Julius about him and Brutus going after the Tag-Team titles. Julius told Fightful, “Life is about shooting for a goal, working relentlessly, and giving it your all to get there. Whether you attain it or not isn’t necessarily the important thing. It’s about the lesson you learn along the way.”

In closing, he added they we’re on the cusp of some really big things and believes they are going to achieve them and more. I think we’re going to achieve it multiple times over. More importantly, I’m excited about what that gets us ready for.

A buddy of mine used to babysit the Creed Bros when they were younger and even helped coach them in their earlier wrestling “careers” as kids. Likes to claim he is undefeated against them lol.
