News Updates: Mercedes, MJF, Cody, Okada, Rumble (Patreon)

- We've heard much of the same as Wrestling Observer regarding Okada, and as of now AEW appear confident they'll land him.

- There were untrue rumors that picked up saying that MJF and Tony Khan had a falling out this past week. MJF is still recovering from injuries, and barring some catastrophic miracle, won't be in the WWE Royal Rumble.

- Those we spoke to in TNA said that Naomi indicated that she was going back to WWE before she left, and had mentioned the Royal Rumble.

- When we asked a WWE source about the possibility of Mercedes Mone in the Royal Rumble, one said "Well, we're not really interested in contract tampering with her, so I doubt it."

- Cody Rhodes filmed a cameo for the Tonight Show that will air this evening to promote the WWE Royal Rumble

- WWE is filming for upcoming A&E features in Tampa.

- Some of the Royal Rumble rehearsals were yesterday.

- Fightful filmed interviews with Gunther, Chad Gable, Otis, The Creeds, Ivy Nile, Nia Jax, Natalya, Akira Tozawa, Shayna Baszler and more Friday.

- Kofi Kingston, Bronson Reed and Maxxine Dupri also did media Friday. R-Truth was scheduled but had other obligations.

- Candice LeRae, Big E, Xavier Woods and Titus are also already in town to do community events.

- Smackdown is in Miami today, so there is a lot of staff still there. There's also some staff in Australia.

- WWE has Special Olympics and Boys and Girls Club events that numerous talent are helping with this weekend.

- WWE 2K is holding an event this weekend and there are many content creators on hand for it. They're working on a lot of promotion for the game this weekend.
