The tradition isn’t stopping any time soon.

Fightful Select has learned that as of today, All Elite Wrestling was to continue their tradition of running Chicago during Thanksgiving week. The company has went there in both 2021 and 2022, and will be there for this year’s show.

That week will be a particularly interesting one, as AEW Dynamite is slated for Chicago on November 22. Just a few days later, WWE will be running Survivor Series at the Allstate Arena on Saturday, with Smackdown happening the day prior.

I just want more than 1 god damn show a year in Detroit lol, I get Chicago is the home of AEW but come on man they run TOO many shows there, its ridiculous.

That city sure is spoiled. Is WarGames being a thing again? I can’t stand brand supremacy BS

Listen to the talk is Jericho podcast episode with the AEW VP of live events,he mentions something about only being able to hit detroit once a year and the only venue they can book is the little Caesars arena

Yousif

idk I find that to be extremely silly but I’ll give it a listen, got a podcast # for that to save me some digging? lol

So AEW ran Chicago in June for Collision and Dynamite. They're running it the first week of September for Dynamite, Collision, and All Out. And then they are gonna run it again in November, probably for both Collision and Dynamite again. Can somebody update Tony's map to include the rest of the country again, please?

Never been to Chicago but in aew's defense it is the third biggest city in the country population wise. Do I agree it's too many shows there? Yes, but they're never going to get a show in the state of Maine so I'm just going to have to make do with watching it on TV anyhow....

Man, hard to not see how the market at least becomes a little taxed at this point.

This is not much of a surprise, as disappointing as it is to admit. But what is surprising is that some other areas, that AEW has been to previously, have been ignored for over a full year. They have to go to other places and gauge the markets; they have to stop relying on Chicago as their crutch.

I understand the reasoning for Chicago, but when you can't sell out Punk's 2023 return in Chicago on Collision, it is time to start looking elsewhere.

This tradition is more family related so I don't see it changing anytime soon. The Kahn's spend thanksgiving in Chicago so it just makes sense. Pretty Shad always attends this one too.

Is this safe to say Vegas is still for DON or would Tony just consider moving it off a holiday weekend

Terps

God, I wish they would fuckin expand more. It feels like They visit the same cities every 6 weeks.

Jared

They haven't visited Philadelphia since September of last year.

I love in New York, a wrestling hotbed, and I get one show in the city proper. It's a trek to Prudential and UBS for me.
