Brian Cage is technically a free agent, while ROH Six Man Tag Team Champion.

Fightful Select has learned that Brian Cage's agreement to work with AEW/ROH expired at midnight following ROH Supercard of Honor. Originally, his deal was set to be up before that, but he agreed to work through the show.

All Elite Wrestling not only has a long-term contract on the table for Cage, but we're told there were attempts at a short-term extension to discuss a longer-term contract. When Fightful asked Tony Khan after Supercard of Honor, he stated that he wanted Brian Cage to remain with AEW for a long time. We're told that productive conversations have occurred between the two sides, and conversations are ongoing.

There have been attempts from ROH/AEW to extend Cage's deal due to injury time, as he was sidelined when they first signed him, but Cage pushed back on that. There were powerful names in AEW that pushed for him to re-sign there, and also powerful members of the WWE roster who were hoping he'd end up there.

I'm glad there's a lot of interest in him. He's a great talent to have.

If the rumors that WWE is in a hiring freeze until the merger is complete are true, can they even sign him in the midst? Either way, Mrs. Cage will find a way to let us know what's up on social media.

Friday will be the big test . If Vince isn’t traveling everywhere and not rewriting every show then I’m much less worried

Good time for AEW contract negotiation.

Unfortunately he doesn't need to be on site to ruin things. He can rewrite from McMahon Tower just as easily as from guerrilla

I mean. If it’s worst case like the vibe this week. For sure. Can’t fault anyone for not wanting to work for a creepy, predator, tyrant scumbag that’s lost the plot a decade ago.

Nobody in their right mind would sign with WWE right now.

Because AEW has zero issues and every talent is used to their best ability and never have problems with screen time

Not sure it's worth having a 6-man division in ROH but Cage etc have been fun

Is the mention of media time significant? Trying for job security?
