We spoke to Dax Harwood about some non-CM Punk topics, as well. We asked him about the FTR Bald nickname and his response was ‘Danhausen, this motherfucker’s making me into a joke.’ However, he quickly saw positive reaction around the nickname and grew to love it.
He said that the fan reaction to the FTR face turn has put a lot of things in perspective for him. Specifically the interaction they get at signings and the pops from the crowd put him in a position where he said he understands why John Cena didn't want to go heel.
Dax Harwood confirmed he had to sign over a lot of trademarks to WWE to leave, but didn't want to get into specifics. However, he said they gained permission to use the Shatter Machine name. After hearing it called that on WWE TV, they remembered how important the name and creation of the move was to them. He said that he and Cash had pitched Beth Phoenix and Edge doing the move, but Beth and Edge were going to surprise them with it. Edge and Beth had concerns about Beth jumping up for the move, but they workshopped it. There was also a consideration of using the 3D.
They had never spoken with Young Bucks before BTE "fuck the Revival" skits. He said "My little sensitive ass, of course I was a little upset at first when I heard it because those motherfuckers didn’t even come to me and talk to me about this. They just did it. Then I was like, ‘Well, hold on. It’s getting us over more than anything else on WWE TV.’"
The full interview can be accessed by tier 2 members early, and is public Friday to gain full context on the quotes.
