Fightful and Wrestling Inc jointly reported today that Ric Flair has requested his WWE release and it was granted by the company.
WWE sources have indicated that Flair grew frustrated with certain booking decisions on the show, and contacted Vince McMahon directly about it to voice his issues.

Flair hadn't been on WWE programming in quite some time, but we're told the booking issues he didn't like were fairly recent. Flair had been outspoken about his disdain of the Lacey Evans storyline earlier this year.

Holy crap what is happening over there

Lol at this point wwe deserves all the hate it gets

Busby

He probably is hating how his daughter is getting booked..

Luis Pulido

Yet another member of the roster who asks for their release due to frustrations with WWE creative... Should tell you everything you need to know about the creative process in WWE today

Michael Adams

Horsemen now available to reunite on Dynamite! Woooo!

Wait, he DIDN'T sign off on that Lacey Evans storyline? Can't believe he didn't walk then. Good for him for doing it now.

Tony Bologna

Cool, Andrade needs a larger entourage and Ric can be treated with some actual respect in his twilight.

Joel Wood

The guy is 72 years old. How about just letting him enjoy his twilight rather than spending it doing the same thing he’s been doing for 40+ years?

Joshua G

What is going on in WWE. Such a dumpster fire.

Wulf

I’m assuming this has to do with Charlotte, I don’t see him being upset with the booking in general.

Soon they will sink faster than WCW did! But in a worst way that WWE themselves can’t recover from!

Anonymous

They should portray him like he’s the untouchable godfather of pro wrestling. Have Tully deem MJF finally worthy after the labors of Jericho and he meets Flair and gets that co-sign.

Anonymous

Just want him to go to AEW solely because TK will pay for Ric Flair Drip as his theme

Brian The Dean

We all now WWE are doing budget cuts, but with Ric Flair asking for his release and the morale of the wrestlers being low, is it at all feasible that Vince steps down?

Joel Wood

Lol WWE is making record profits. WCW was losing millions of dollars a year. Huge difference in that analogy

Kamonte Jackson

Another one and Vince just dose not care. Its a shame. Ric Flair deserve to be booked better than what he got.

Oli guessed right in his Wrestle Talk news today

Stephen Harris

Could not have been happy about the way his future son-in-law was treated either. Andrade is so money.

I just wish he'd take Charlotte with him.
