Very cool to see your analysis of a very different kind of dance group! They did a live performance of this (Jeju Hallyu Festival 2018) where you can see a lot more of the swag/performance aspect that Big Bang has in the original. 1000% worth watching just to see Dami (deep voiced rapper in the striped shirt here) absolutely kill all the rap parts live.

I heard they did a vocal cover of this as well! I’ll have to add it to my list to look at after I cover all of their dance practices!!!

When you said that the big bang dance practice was just kind of like a drill... that's kind of what this feels like - it's just a drill for synchronization for Dreamcatcher. But also you're right with them not really putting much power into it or using performance to override simplistic choreography. Their way seems to be more of clean synchronicity with a hint of horror film type malice. I've said to others before that Dreamcatcher isn't "badass" or even swaggy - they're the ones in normal clothes with a dagger up their sleeves. They will (or at least give off the aura while they're on stage) murder you just because it was a day that ended in y. For them to attempt to do anything in the area of big bang's performance it would come across as too much trying I think. Even in their live cover, they don't do much more than this - because like you said, this choreography wasn't made for them, it was made for big bang. (Also they all had jackets on which probably also restricted their moves.) I feel you on bad ankles - I broke my right ankle 10 years ago... it still gives me issues. Pro tip: pls don't break ankles.

Ankles should never be broken haha! I feel that and I'm sorry that happened to you! I hope your recovery went well with that! and I can totally see what you are referencing with their concept of being "normal" but could take you out in a heartbeat haha! Excited to see more of it!
