You're right that they made a lot of concessions to doing live vocals, and they still do even as Dreamcatcher. In fact they had to make the choreography of Chase Me easier so they could sing.. but they still say it's one of their hardest choreographies along with Scream. (Also you are not going to see backup dancers until Scream and on some of their songs they aren't there at all. And speaking of Scream, the masked dancer is for Handong, who was in China at the time filming Youth With You... then Covid hit. She wasn't able to get back to Korea until after Boca, so that's why Scream has a masked dancer and Boca only has 6 members. Handong returned with a vengeance - confidence wise - at Odd Eye and the fandom still hasn't recovered.) I think at this point Yoohyeon's nickname was still "tree" because she was stiffer in her movements than she is now. And Sua... oh man. How she packs so much energy into such a small body I don't even understand. She's so hyper and that maybe? could translate into her basically doing more. The choreography is very cute and simple, but like you said, there is beauty in simplicity. (And also Dami and Yoohyeon were still minors and wouldn't be adult age until Dreamcatcher... at which point they had a new maknae lol) Fun fact: Yoohyeon's birthday is on the 17th of this month! I'm really excited to watch you see the change in the girls as they really grow into their performance abilities.
