I only found out about D League through you & I’m no dancer but the synchronisation in a lot of those groups are some of the best I’ve ever seen. SDC has always had that issue when it comes to choreography & I think that’s to be expected when you group a bunch of dancers together who don’t specialise in Choreo . In saying that though I think this has been one of the poorer choreography episodes compared to past seasons which is abit of a let down. But the good news is I just saw the preview for next episode & it looks like there is going to be a lot of battling going down 🙏 also thanks for introducing me to D League!

Thank you for taking a look at D.League! I’m excited to continue discussions with that league after SDC6 concludes. And I also saw battling is coming back with a vengeance so I think we will get some of that incredible caliber back in with these teams!

I knew this was gonna be a struggle for you. The judging on SDC has always been questionable when it comes to choreographies. In the first four seasons of the show, they didn't even have judges - they just voted by audience towels. They added judge scores only in S5, and even there, you could see a clear trend: the majority of Chinese judges gave higher scores (always in the 80s-100 range) while the international judges would give somewhat lower, but it was still never below 50. One of the problems I had with S5 specifically was how easy it was to get 100s from judges or captains because everyone was trying to be nice to the younger dancers. I think it's due to this being a TV show with a clear theme - they're always trying to promote unity, working hard to improve oneself, and hope. That's why the scores are always in the higher range, even for performances that I honestly felt looked like from a local talent show. I can only remember 1 instance where the judges really criticized someone harshly for a poor performance, and that was during a pre-show evaluation, not on the main stage. On the last part about the Chinese-style performance and when you disagreed about what the judge was saying - I don't know if I misunderstood you or you misunderstood him, but what he is saying is that if they change their outfits, there wouldn't be a difference, so that's why he can't accept it as a Chinese-style dance. This is likely because Chinese-style choreographies were insane in previous seasons, and so the judging standard for them is also much higher. Yusie (the girl) is from the same dance studio as Huang Xiao and Ma Xialong, who are considered to be the best choreographers in that genre in the nation, so I think that's why she was being held to a higher standard, which I think is a bit unfair to her but not unexpected. I am still salty they scored so low though, I really thought they deserved second place.

I actually took a look back at the start of part 2 because I needed to understand their perspective like you mentioned and I think once Van Ness stated a “twist on Chinese style” that is what low key shot that routine in the foot. He gave the judges the expectation that there can going to be a “Chinese style” and there wasn’t barely any of that here. So you are actually right in that I misunderstood!

inconsistent enjoyer

that is something that happens if you lose all your choreographers, the team captains end up being the most familiar with choreo 😂 sincronicity is not a cathegory because if they were honest some cases would have negative points and in the case of the judging i was ok when it was just towels because i could not be mad at that, it was: did they like it yes or no, ok move on. but knowing that they deserve from 50 to 100 points less from judges in all of these performances oooff blood boiling like why would you give a perfect score ??? bffr 3 very underwhelming performances also going back to 2eps ago cause i forgot to comment on it: i dont like the way they incorporated the "vip" contestants, the percentage of the total is way too high (which is expected) but new faces are needed to mix it up, i have already seen multiple battles in the show with this same people and that is normal in the industry but defeats the purpose of the show in my opinion. I would have prefered they came as episode guest, like ep 4 exactly the same but instead of eliminating, the team that defeats the most vip would get bonus points or something like that. (tahiti i miss you :( ) anyway i have criticism for every season and yet here i am watching
