The main choreographer is Choi Young Joon, he was in 1 mil team in SMF and is more or less a permanent choreographer for SVT since that era, together with Yoon Hyelim and The Look. In one of his vlogs he mentions that it was his favourite choreo and how he wanted to create a choreo on the knees to have a sexy feel. Hoshi is also often mentioned in regards to DWC choreo. For instance, the part where 2 members walk through the alleyway made of people with their hands serving as street lights. I think DWC choreo is what cemented SVT's image as the top performance group.

The choreo for Don't Wanna Cry made a big splash when it was first released. Back then, most choreographers would go for very loose and interpretative choreos for slower songs like Don't Wanna Cry so Choi Youngjun's choices for this choreo felt very novel. What's interesting is that SVT's growing popularity was a bit overshadowed by the debut of Wanna One in 2017. But looking back, DWC's performance left a bit impact on the kpop industry (I remember all the rookie and senior idols copying the "arm ticking" move) and really raised the standards of performance that people expected from idols. Many idols who debuted after mentioned that their CEOs and dance trainers would show them Seventeen's dance practices and tell them "that's how you guys should do it, that's how you dance together".

That’s so incredible. Being the example is such a great place to be in the industry. It leaves a lasting mark on those around you!
