Before putting on my stan hat for this, let me tout out the PR line real quick. Oh, yes, five diamonds in the bag. You know, since there are five members in the group. It's basically the Neverlands' bag, and each member is a diamond. That's obviously the meaning behind it. (Even Soyeon said as much in her recent appearance on Lee Mujin's show!) ...Except, it really isn't. It's obviously Soyeon holding the bag since the song is literally about showcasing the rest of the I-DLE members. She wrote them all rap sections from their POV to highlight their vibes. That's the entire song's gimmick. Soyeon is just their hype-woman, and she is showing them off. She is not simultaneously *holding* the bag and is *in* the bag. See, this would be ambiguous enough on its own to hold both meanings at once. Sure, Soyeon may just be playing the hype-woman for this song but is also one of the diamonds in the bag - she is just taking a background role since she has had ample opportunity to show her rap colour before. The plausible deniability is there. ...Except, we have the MAMA 2022 intro to I-DLE's performance of My Bag followed by TOMBOY. The translation for the first part of Soyeon's intro is this: "Yeah, I need to talk about the 5th red diamond right now / It's red but it's creepy, it's beautiful / I raise up my label, I raise up my team / Of course I'm grateful to their parents for their abilities / Oh yeppie yeppie, Such a boss baby, Born as princess, Making giant dog baby / Now let me explain myself, lion queen". Red, creepy and beautiful are all signifiers for Soojin, not Soyeon. (Soojin's red lips and sensual-but-almost-scary stage presence were big parts of her notoriety. Soyeon and Soojin weren't labelled fan attractors for nothing and this vibe was definitely what Soojin was known for.) Soyeon's signifiers in this context are always "lion queen" as she lists at the end too. (Yeppie yeppie is Minnie, boss baby is Shuhua, Miyeon is princess and Yuqi is the giant dog, for the record.) THERE'S NO TINFOIL ON MY HEAD! I do want to put the tinfoil on my head and fantasize about a day where MY BAG can be performed as OT6 though... If Soojin ever appeared to do a fifth verse for it... I'd probably just drop dead...

I LOVE THIS..... Talk about the best baddie move someone could have. Love that she references Soojin in this for MAMA to show she is still a part of IDLE. I also am secretly hoping for an OT6 reunion so we can all enjoy together! With how all these GEN 2 groups getting together to do some CB (cough cough BAP cough cough) I don't think it's too far fetched if you ask me!
