Thank you, I thought I was going crazy since, except for that one travel that was a little awkward, I liked the choreo just fine. I don't know anything about dance though so I thought I just missed some important things but it seems to be a mix of personal preference and some overreaction. They aren't a dance focused group so I never expected super complex choreo and energetic/clean execution that would be contender for choreography of the year. And I don't personnaly mind the not symmetrical formations, I like when I can see all the members even though it can look unbalanced but some suggestions you had would absolutely make it look better! The only "problem" I have is in the chorus when I had trouble seeing who was singing at first, especially since I'm not a fan. Is it my favorite choreo? No, but I think that it's cute and it fits the song and their concept so I'm happy with it.

I think what happened here is that the choreo felt a little underwelming if we compare to their other stuff. I agree with you the second verse is better in terms of formations and levels and the first verse felt just awkward because of the non symmetrical formations. At the end I really don't understand why Starship decided to make Rei the only one to travel because the formation looks so much coherent in the Lachica demo. At the end of the day yes IVE are not known for being a danced focus group but the saying that their choreos are easy is not quite true, I think their style of dance tend to be more "elegant" and "chic" in a way and it match their concept. I am glad that you mention that the company as a lot to say in the final product because yeah maybe Starship asks Lachica to showcase the members in a certain way and maybe they didn't want to have a lot of formation with a member hidind behind. This "problem" really blew out of proportion and it's happening more and more that people criticize every little thing and especially with girl groups. If you want to check out their other stuff I can recommend Eleven or Love Dive (this one is really good) who are really good showcase of good choreo for a 6 members group.

You are not crazy! I do feel that people are blowing this out of proportion 😂 I normally don’t mind asymmetric formations as much unless they negatively impact the routine which I felt it made it harder for the group to showcase a fuller and complete routine! I lf you didn’t see it yet, an ideal formation format that I just saw soon after this one was from ASTRO! They operated with 6 as well so it’s a really cool comparison!

I’m so glad we see it similarly! I’m not a fan of when people criticize a group from only one side of things or from one perspective. It’s not practical and doesn’t set anyone up for success. I’m happy to have been able to be an advocate for this group because I feel they don’t need the degree of criticism they’ve been receiving. Hope to look at more of their work in the future!

idk if you knew (because i’m still watching LOL) but harimu also worked on this choreo! her draft was just released for it a couple days ago if you wanted to check it out on your own as well! just wanted to let you know because i also liked her version as well & a couple of her moves were chose to be kept in the final as well!
