Mike

Best guess, overwhelming emotions due to receiving the validation she never got in any of her previous incarnations.

James K

Best guess, she's not used to being human, and all of her body systems are mega-stressed at having to hit the ground running. "I don't know how to breathe! Do I breathe IN first?"

Begemott

Okay that is somehow the last thing I expected.

David would never be defeated physically, but that didnt mean he was invincible

Man. That top left panel is evocative. Especially since you can directly compare it to the bottom right.

dad

so is Jagganoth gonna crash through the void right after this moment like the kool aid man and cut off Solomon's head like Juggernaut Star did Zoss, then grab allison, thus triggering the final arc?

Anna Phylaxis

gog agog is so incredibly more dangerous than literally anyone has given them credit for

All I can hear is the crowd noise from Mike Tyson's Punch Out

I don't think this is a bad outcome for Salami Dave. His personal pride is wounded, but he has shown that his system that he holds so dearly has worked. It's like how in the US, we pat ourselves on the back for the fact that we have had peaceful transitions of power for two centuries. That's the wonderful thing about the comic, Allison getting involved with the individual demiurges and shaking up their lives has been a good thing for all of them. Mottom is no longer cowarding in her palace, surrounding herself with frivolities; she's out there starting a war, ramming her palace into Yre. Mammon is no longer doddering around his vault pointlessly counting his hoard; he is invigorated into action to defend what is his, feeling more alive than he has in centuries. Solomon David has been stagnating on the throne of his beautiful, orderly empire, and now, depending on what White Chain and whether Salami Dave tries to hand-over rule to her, he has to shake things up.

I don't think the outcome has been positive for any of them. They are at war, they are losing their power base. Allison and Co. are a revolution, not a wake-up call. Even if they do not eliminate the Demiurges, they have set the stage for a new power to rise.

I would argue that the themes of the comic have been Neitzschean - the will to power, that is the strength to overcome and improve the self, and change being essential, as stagnation rots. Mottom was a coward, fearing the other demiurges and her own aging. Allison forced her to accept the latter, which in turn has caused her to face the former by deciding to initiate a war that she didn't even have to start. As for Mammon, he was fading away year after year from dementia. Sure, he may lose everything or die in the coming battles, but at least he is alive now, living with purpose. Yes, things are going to change. The only one not rotting from stagnation was Jagganoth, who is bracing change completely. Unfortunately, it's the extreme interpretation of change, Fascism, the embrace of the chaos of hate and destruction. It is the belief that strength or force is true power, which is antithetical to Neitzsche's idea of true power: I have found strength where one does not look for it: in simple, mild, and pleasant people, without the least desire to rule—and, conversely, the desire to rule has often appeared to me a sign of inward weakness: they fear their own slave soul and shroud it in a royal cloak (in the end, they still become the slaves of their followers, their fame, etc.) The powerful natures dominate, it is a necessity, they need not lift one finger. Even if, during their lifetime, they bury themselves in a garden house!
