This is the background setting (Ver.1.1) of my originally created world "Certificate of Livestock".

It is not necessary to read this before you can enjoy the stories but they will be more enjoyable if you have read this.

□ World

This world is a world different from where we (author and readers) live.

Despite the fact that the level of their civilization, apart from certain technologies, is almost identical to ours, they formed a very different common sense and ethics from us.

□ Livestock

The male population is extraordinarily low in this world. Women can rarely be pregnant and even if they do, most babies are female.

The technology of artificial uterus is highly developed. In fact, large numbers of human beings are born through artificial uterus. Oddly, most of those newborns are still female.

In order to improve this imbalanced gender ratio, a paranormal being named "The King in Yellow" by his will established a system to be the rule of the world a long time ago: women are "livestock" and will eventually be "slaughtered".

Every woman is taught to think in a way that "I am a livestock and is destined to be slaughtered" since she was born. And thus, they are looking forward to the "Slaughter Day" rather than scared of it.

Not even a single livestock ever thought of escaping this fate.

□ Women and men

Although female in this world are either called "women" or "livestock", they possess rights of normal citizens such as schooling and employment. There is no difference in terms of social rights between the two sexes.

Severe penalties will be imposed on livestock who committed a crime, where in most cases are death penalties. This also applies when the livestock violated the regulations of the stock-breeding school.

Men, too, possess no privilege when it comes to violating the law despite them being endangered species. Unless a woman permitted to do so, acts such as sexual molestation or raping are considered as crimes. Some of whom being convicted of a felony might eventually become vagrants and are unable to return to the society.

□ Principles of slaughter

Basically, a slaughterer must obtain the livestock's permission, which is granted of her own free will, before the slaughter takes place.

This rules applies even when the slaughterer is the husband, lover or owner of the livestock.

Slaughter is always possible whenever the livestock agreed to. "Forced slaughter" (slaughter without permission given by livestock) is a felony.

However, exceptions exists when:

1) the livestock committed a crime and is sentenced to death; or,

2) the Super-Computer (for short: the SC) of the Great Library of Celaeno (for short: the Great Library), practically the government of this world, sent out a slaughter order to mandatorily slaughter the livestock within a given period of time.

Approximately 20% of the livestock are being slaughtered between 1X to 20 years old while the majority, which accounts for 55% of the total, are being slaughtered between 20 to 3X years old. The remaining 25% are usually slaughtered before they reach 4X years old.

□ Rules for slaughtering

Other than those sentenced to death, the method of slaughter preferred by the livestock will always be the top priority.

As soon as the livestock reaches the age of 1X, the SC will calculate her optimal age for slaughtering. A slaughter order will be issued to the livestock one month (30 days) beforehand. The livestock has the right to decide the method of slaughtering, the type of pre-slaughter handling, the place to be slaughtered and also who will be the slaughterer during the one-month period. Even requirements that seemed impossible to achieve, such as fantasy style deaths or historical drama style deaths, will be satisfied as much as possible in order to accomplish the slaughter.

Also, as a tacit understanding, people around will do their best to assist the slaughter. Only very occasionally will a livestock’s request be ignored when it is going to cause serious consequences, such as disrupting the society.

Unless otherwise requested, the slaughter is performed by a person specialized in livestock processing (such as a school teacher or a butcher) at a location designated by the Great Library (usually a school or slaughterhouse in each district).

Since it will not be considered illegal for a livestock to break minor regulations, except committing heavy crimes, after receiving the slaughter order, it is not uncommon to see one doing so in purpose to fulfill her own desire.

In case of death penalty, the date of execution will generally be notified from one day to a week beforehand. It may even be done without notice depends on the situation. Where execution is usually carried out in a prison, livestock who violated school rules are executed in schools. Public execution is not uncommon in these circumstances.

There is also a punishment called "self slaughter" for criminals who committed less heavy crimes, which is, in other words, to commit suicide. The criminal will either suicide on the same day or within a week without going to the prison. In contrast to capital punishment which the slaughtering method cannot be selected, the livestock is able to select the way of suicide in a self slaughter.

□ The philosophy of slaughter

To a livestock, "beautifulness" means not only a beautiful appearance, but more importantly the belief that "I can face my own death gracefully at any time". (Resistance to death as part of the "play" is acceptable.)

On the other hand, the longing of a livestock for slaughter is a feeling similar to that for a wedding ceremony, only being hundreds of times stronger. They live passionately, dreaming about the day of the great event arrives once in a lifetime called the "Slaughter Day". That is why livestock never accept slaughter unless they have the feeling that they are about to have the happiest moment in their life.

In fact, the philosophy of slaughter is more of "the slaughterer fulfilled the dream of the livestock" rather than "a butcher slaughtered a livestock".

□ Slaughter restrictions

Slaughtering livestock under 1X years old is absolutely prohibited.

Due to the extremely low rate of pregnancy, fetuses and even zygotes are treated as children under the age of 1X. As a result, abortion is banned for as long as the pregnancy will cause no life threatening harm to the mother. (Although the possibility is very low, this is a rigid rule because the mother may bear a rarely seen male baby.)

For the same reason, to slaughter a pregnant livestock is also strictly prohibited. If a livestock received a slaughter order or is sentenced to death during pregnancy, a suspension period last from one year to several years will be granted.

Moreover, a livestock who intends to raise her own children should not be slaughtered when her child is still young. Only when a livestock is able to provide full support to bring up her children in her absence can her desired slaughter be approved.

□ Forced slaughter

"Forced slaughter" refers to slaughter without the permission of a livestock. This is a felonious act in this world. (This does not include capital punishment or slaughter order from the SC.)

Furthermore, if the slaughterer threatens, blackmails, or mind-controlled the livestock through drugs or hypnosis to obtain the permission against the free will of the livestock, he will be accused of the highest class felony.

In short, it is a general rule that all slaughtering activities are performed based on the free will of the livestock.

□ Certificate of Livestock

"Certificate of Livestock" is the keyword of this world. It is a document that contains the personal data and the preference of slaughtering method of a livestock. This certificate is issued by a Great Library-approved slaughterhouse and will be submitted to the slaughterer by the livestock before slaughter.

For it contains the most private information, including height, weight, three sizes, as well as sexual fetishes and desired slaughter methods, the person who the livestock showed her "Certificate of Livestock" to is by tradition considered to be the one she dedicated her life to.

□ Slaughter Day

More than 90% of the livestock are slaughtered by slaughterers or cooperators on their “slaughter day” while the remaining few, where this situation rarely occurs, would choose to commit "self slaughter", that is, suicide.

Since scat is a minor sexual fetish, most livestock will take laxatives and receive enema beforehand to clean their guts thoroughly in order to avoid fecal incontinence during slaughter. Some may even consume only water and energy drinks a few days before the slaughter day. On the other hand, some livestock have the fetish to pee at the time of slaughtering. Those will drink a large amount of water in advance.

A final body check for the livestock may be carried out in specialized institutions such as slaughterhouses before slaughter but this procedure is not mandatory.

In addition, slaughterers should help to fulfill the livestock's final sexual desire whenever she requests unless they are under irresistible situations which prevented the slaughterer to do so.

□ The final confession

As a common practice, the livestock will make a "final confession" to the slaughterer or viewers before the slaughter starts.

The contents of the confession may vary from person to person but are generally as follows:

1) "My name is (the name of the livestock). Now I am going to be slaughtered by (slaughtering method)."

2) "(Everyone / the name of the loved person), please watch and enjoy my death."

3) "(The feelings at this moment, messages to the loved one, etc.)"

Every livestock will compose their own confession base on this template. This "final confession" also has the effect of increasing the livestock's libido by self-implying that she will now be slaughtered.

It should be noted that although the Great Library recommends to do a "last confession", it is not a must do so some livestock might just skip it.

This "last confession" will usually be recorded.

□ Corpse recycling practitioner

Since the corpse recycling practitioners are funded by the Great Library, any fundamental recycling and processing services for livestock bodies are free of charge.

The way to process the corpse of a slaughtered livestock is based on the preference of either the livestock herself, her husband, lover or owner. It may also leave the decision to the slaughterer in some occasions. The body will usually become meat products, taxidermy mounts, or sex toys like artificial vagina and sex dolls, and thus their destinations differ widely.

Those going to be taxidermy will be transported to the treatment facility. In order to maintain the freshness of the body during delivery, the practitioners will put it under an invisible light that is completely harmless to human body as a simple preservation process. After that, the body will be processed at the facility and can then be permanently preserved.

A very small part of livestock who are unsuitable for eating or stuffing will be disposed of if the corpse is unclaimed.

□ The Great Library of Celaeno

"The Great Library of Celaeno" is a gigantic organization with branches in every single town around the world.

Although being called a “library”, the Great Library of Celaeno actually served as a social management organization (in other words, the government) with functions of a temple at the same time.

The SC that decides the fate of livestock is stored in the main building of the Great Library located in Celaeno, but the location of Celaeno is unknown.

There is no local or nation-wide government exist in this world. Instead, the local “Branch of the Great Library of Celaeno” played the role of a local government.

Known as the "small government" system in this world, municipal administration is generally managed and executed by local branches of the Great Library in each area.

Constant peace is achieved here and no war or conflict occurred any more.

□ Social system

Although the Great Library of Celaeno, functioned as the government, guides the education and slaughter of livestock, it is NOT a dystopian government. (Of course, this world is NOT a dystopian world.)

There is an armed force named “Great Library Guards” under the command of the Great Library but their stationed area is remained unknown and their missions had almost nothing to do with the general public.

Market fundamentalism is deeply rooted in this world. In contrast, the Great Library rarely involved in the daily life of the citizens that even bank notes are issued by consigned private banks.

There is no need for citizens to pay tax to the Great Library. Correspondingly, the Great Library will never provide any form of aids to regions experiencing recession unless their economy is on the edge of total collapse.

Whenever a citizen died but with no heir or left no Will to donate away his/her properties, the entire property will be automatically acquired by the Great Library as a bequest. The remains of slaughtered livestock are also regarded as part of the property. Another major source of income of the Great Library are dividends issued by major shareholders of large companies.

Through adopting the "small government" system, the organizational structure of the the local Great Library branches is extremely streamlined. The financial budget is, as a result, very small and financial surplus occurs every year. Part of the surplus will be spent directly towards improving the standard of living of the citizens by subsidizing organizations and corporations that provide social welfare to livestock (like childcare facilities for new born citizens, stock-breeding schools, slaughterhouses, corpse recycling practitioners and etc.). The remaining will be used to enhance the slaughtering environment for citizens.

□ Judicial system

Since police are privatized, uniform designs vary from place to place.

There is a small team of special investigators who reported directly to the Great Library. They possess the power to demand assistance from the local police.

All laws are legislated by the Great Library. The trial procedure is extremely quick and efficient. For a misdemeanor trial, the police transfer case information to the SC through a terminal that connected directly to it. They then pronounce the judgement immediately after the SC returned the decision.

As mentioned previously, the punishment for most livestock who offended criminal law is death penalty.

□ Religious system

The one and only god recognized by all residents including the staff of the Great Library in this world is The King in Yellow.

People who work to serve the god is the lowest tier staff in the Great Library. Their titles varies according to their local culture. For example, female clergy may called miko (jinja maiden) or nun and male clergy may called kannushi (shinto priest) or priest.

The religion of The King in Yellow holds no doctrine and the clergies do not carry out any religious activities. Citizens simply acknowledge The King in Yellow as the God but they themselves do not either belief in or pray to him. They go to jinjas or churches during annual events as a custom instead of visiting for religious reasons.

There is an act of slaughtering to dedicate to the god known as human sacrifice and basically only female clergies are eligible to be selected as the sacrifice. Ordinary citizens, on the other hand, cannot be slaughtered for that reason.

To people in this world, the Great Library and The King in Yellow are nothing more than "existing facts".

□ Relationship

Love between women is common in this world.

On top of same sex marriage, other marital relationships like consanguineous marriage, bigamy and group marriage are also allowed.

In an extreme case, a man married up to a hundred women and had hundreds of children. Another case is that someone used a futanari livestock slave to make other livestock slaves pregnant in order to set up a livestock ranch.

However, the concept of "marriage" in this world is different from ours. Although procedures like marriage registration are required, there is no legal right or duty arose between the couple from their marriage. Whether a person change his/her last name after marry or not is up to himself/herself. A livestock usually does not change her last name if she is married just before being slaughtered.

Any slavery commitment is not legally binding. People can have various relationships with each other such as boyfriend and girlfriend, husband and wife, owner and slave and etc. regardless of gender but any of which is just in appearance. These relationships are formed only as a kind of “play” and the consent of livestock is crucial in forming any of which, especially at her time of slaughter.

By the way, the age for which a livestock can marry is 1X years old, the same as that she can be slaughtered.

□ New citizen

Because of the low pregnancy rate, it is very often to have people passed away before they could give birth to a baby. As a solution, couples provide their sperms and eggs to the artificial uterus operated by the Great Library to carry a child for them.

Upper classes might also choose to ensure the succession of their family title and status through adoption. But this practice is not yet widespread among ordinary households.

Every year, the population reduced will be recovered by newborns raised from the artificial uterus. Those who were born due to this reason are called “new citizens”. A name will be assigned to each of them unless being adopted and will be brought up in a breeding facility until they reached the entrance age of the stock-breeding school.

As long as the new citizens are students, stock-breeding schools will provide accommodation to them. There is no tuition or accommodation fee required. In return, the school will automatically own the corpse of a student livestock when she is slaughtered and has no lover or other people who can claim its ownership.

After graduating from the stock-breeding school, the Great Library will offer a house to each livestock as a gift to celebrate their graduation. These houses were donated by citizens according to their Will when they died.

□ Stock-breeding school

Stock-breeding schools are organizations equivalent to ordinary schools in our world.

In the meantime, they are also public slaughterhouses. One of their duties is to slaughter and dispose the corpse of school and local livestock. Almost all teachers in stock-breeding schools possess a slaughterer license.

Except for livestock education such as slaughter practices and slaughterhouse tours, the curriculum of stock-breeding schools is very similar to that of our world. Although some stock-breeding schools focus on sex skill education (slave training) or improving the meat quality of livestock, they are only minorities.

There are two types of stock-breeding schools. One of which is girl school where only females can be admitted and the other is co-ed school where both sexes can be admitted. In co-ed schools, male students are trained as livestock trainers and slaughterers and have the chance to practice what they learn with livestock who volunteered to be slaughtered.

□ School rules of stock-breeding schools

Each stock-breeding school has its own school rules.

For example, there is a stock-breeding school that prohibits over-the-knee socks while there is another stock-breeding school that prohibits knee-high socks. There is another example that a stock-breeding school regards having sex with random people as obligation while another stock-breeding school considers sex as a taboo.

Livestock students who broke school rules will be subjected to various penalties. Punishments in the order of severity from light to heavy are: suspension, spanking, erotic humiliation, forced sex, etc. The last and the most severe one is the death penalty.

Death penalty due to the violation of school rules is called "school execution" and many stock-breeding schools will broadcast the process.

□ Examples of school rules that would be sentenced to death when violated

Smoking (possibility to reduce meat quality), bullying (drop in mental value) and cheating (no intention to obey the rules) are rule breaking acts that would result in death penalty in most stock-breeding schools.

Other acts that would be penalized by death in different stock-breeding schools include:

◯ Have sex with unhygienic men such as vagrants (RL1)

◯ Late for school for more than 44 times in one semester (RL1)

◯ Decline in academic performance and determined to be unsuitable for continuing study/graduation (IBA Private Academy)

◯ Savor foods outside the school regulations (Maya Sakura Academy)

◯ Fall in love with a teacher (Kuroyuri Academy)

◯ Loss of virginity (Navo Virgin Academy)

And etc.

It is worth to note that although female teachers are also livestock, they are not subject to school execution. There is an equivalent of school executions for female teachers known as "self slaughter", which is suicide.

□ Rlmoeh

Rlmoeh, a port town in the north, is a place with small temperature difference through out the year due to the ocean current moves along the coast of the town. Winter is relatively warm. Despite the modernized side, Rlmoeh reserves her face of a peaceful old town.

The town experienced a temporary depression due to the decline in fishery, which is the backbone of her economy, but soon recovered thanks to the opening of the Situation Experience Special Zone in recent year. What’s more, the Special Zone brings a rapid economic growth and infrastructure renewal.

□ Rlmoeh No.1 Stock-Breeding Academy

Rlmoeh No.1 Stock-Breeding Academy (for short: RL1) is a traditional stock-breeding school with over 100 years of history. It provides middle to high school education and is famous for livestock training. Numerous students from other towns or areas wish to come to study here.

□ RL1 uniform

Since its adoption, the uniforms of RL1 have been highly popular among both students and people outside the school. The design contains the philosophy of "drawing out the charm of as well as nurturing the mind of obedience of the livestock" and with the breasts exposed being its major characteristic.

Both middle and high school department of RL1 uses sailor suit as the template of their uniform design. The winter uniform is iron gray with cherry color linings while the summer one is pure white with black linings. Bras are prohibited but shorts and socks can be wore freely. Sports uniform is T-shirt plus bloomers and swimwear is the School Swimsuit.

□ Situation Experience Special Zone

The Situation Experience Special Zone is a facility similar to a theme park with a much larger scale than any existing public facilities. The one in Rlmoeh is about half the size of the town. This facility is managed and operated by the Great Library.

In the Special Zone, both livestock and slaughterers can try out slaughtering situations that are unrealistic or illegal in this world. For example,

◯ to be a violent slaughterer and forces a livestock to be slaughtered against her will;

◯ the livestock being slaughtered in a fantasy world or a historical drama world;

◯ the livestock being defeated on the battlefield as a soldier and brutally raped and killed by the enemy;

and etc ...

Most of the slaughter carried out in the Special Zone are simulations only but there are livestock who really wanted to be slaughtered in the facility from time to time. In such cases, a special permit will be issued to the livestock and once she begins the tour, she cannot leave the special zone alive (to put it simple, she is slaughtered for real).

The Special Zone collects a high admission fee from livestock and slaughterers but livestock can enjoy a free visit if she is going to be slaughtered there.

□ Another Worlds

The Great Library has the technology to travel to other planets (not other dimensions or spaces), so-called "Another Worlds", by using a teleport gate called "The Gate". The Great Library has already established branches in several fantasy style Another Worlds and maintained friendly relations with countries and people there.

The general public in this world and Another Worlds know nothing about either the existence of The Gate or other worlds. These information are kept as top secrets in the Great Library.

All people in Another Worlds know about the Great Library is that it is a religious organization called the "Cult of The King in Yellow" and the Great Library does not want to deepen the communication between the worlds. Of course, there is no invasion or colonization targeting the Another Worlds.

□ Immigrant from another world

From time to time, the Great Library would invite people from intelligent races in Another Worlds as immigrants. These people with no exception are those who joined the "Cult of The King in Yellow" in their own world and have completely accepted the values and rules of this world of the Great Library.

As a result, despite the small population, there are fantasy creatures like elves, beastmen and demons living in this world. Mixed-bloods between human beings and fantasy races also exists.

Immigrants from Another Worlds are settled in several immigrant areas and the first generations will be employed by the Great Library as local branch staff. From second generations onward, the immigrants know nothing about Another Worlds and recognize themselves as residents of this world. On the other hand, native human residents recognize those non-human races such as elves, beastmen or demons simply as races from other places in the world but not from Another Worlds.

The lifespan of some races like the elves is considerably longer than that of humans. Their age of slaughter will be extended in proportion to that of humans when the SC determines and issues the slaughter order. Take the elves as an example, an elf in her age of 40 is roughly the same as a human in the age of 20 and thus the probability of receiving a slaughter order for an elf before 40 years old and that of a human before 20 years old will be the same. (However, the growth speed and the stage of sexual maturity of elves and humans are the same before the age of 20 and therefore, an elf can be slaughtered any time whenever she wants to after she turns 1X years old.)

□ An example of technology introduced from Another World

The Great Library is in general far more advanced in both the fields of science and magic than Another Worlds. Even so, Another Worlds possess certain magics which are so unique that the Great Library would occasionally adopt some of them and then introduce to this world by claiming them as technologies developed by the library.

Take for example, petrification of humans become possible after introducing petrifying magic from Another Worlds. To petrify a human, a petrifying item that can radiate magical light is used. The person to be petrified will be exposed under the light and he/she will lose consciousness and become a stone statue within a few minutes. It is worth to note that female can experience intense sexual pleasure during this process.

The petrifying effect of a “timed petrification item” is reversible and the person petrified will return to normal after a certain period of time even without any treatment. For this reason, timed petrification items are always used as a kind of sex tool.

On the other hand, there is a powerful “permanent petrification item” which the the livestock will experience hundreds of times of pleasure than timed petrification when she is petrified and die immediately as the petrification completes. As stated literally, there is no way to remove the effect of permanent petrification, which means it is impossible to restore the petrified to its original state.

Therefore, permanent petrification items are dangerous items that can only be possessed by qualified slaughterhouses with hazardous item handling licenses. Permanent petrification is one of the slaughter methods available for livestock. If a livestock wishes to be slaughtered by petrification, she can submit the application in the slaughterhouse. Once the application is approved, she can be turned into a stone statue forever.
