Halloween Teaser 2/3 (Pixiv Fanbox)

Another Halloween teaser, this one going over the upcoming Public poll that I'll be having. Last year I had two public polls, but this year I'm trying to avoid such a 'extravaganza' since I already had one of those with the Anniversary stuff. Don't want to go crazy EVERY Halloween... just within reason. Though it's still gonna be a wild Halloween, especially this poll. I'll go ahead and reveal the one that will probably be the most surprising character of the three. I've been told if this character is in a poll, they're guaranteed to win. And I've kind of agreed, for the most part? But the Anniversary actually kind of made me think there's a chance they'll lose. Especially up against some of the bigger names. I've carefully crafted this poll to see if my theory is correct. To see if the supposed inevitability is true, or if there is truly a way to escape that future.

Yes, this is the first character of the poll. Red Riding Hood Lunafreya, though not the same Lunafreya from last year... well, this one also appeared last year, just as a bonus. I've been told this Lunafreya will hands-down win every poll she's in by several people. It's possible. Very possible. But this is a public poll, so one vote = one point. It's a pure popularity poll. And I'm doing this to see just how popular this character really is. Because some would have me believe she's my most popular character, but I have my doubts. Regardless, I'll go ahead and preface this saying that since this is a public poll, I'm actually gonna use Pixiv's built in poll system? I end it as a question, because I've never used it before. I know it has one, but for the longest time I never understood how to use it. It was only this year I realized you have to edit a post to add the poll... so I'm not sure it'll work out properly in the end, but I'm doing this just so it's right there on the post it'll be a part of and people don't have to go to some external link to vote. Can't do that on Fanbox, but since Fanbox and Pixiv are tied together it'll just be a matter of going to the pixiv post to vote. For SubscribeStar I'll have a poll up there too. And yeah, that kind of means people can double vote, but that sort of things happens regardless. I've seen a couple instances of 'mass voting' dumps done on some of my previous public polls where you had to have a gmail account, so there's no real way to stop that. Which isn't a huge deal, personally. If someone wants to waste their time that way, they can lol.

Anyway, so this Luna is gonna be in the poll and while I do think she has a shot of winning, I don't think it's guaranteed. Especially when counting the other characters.

My Marie Rose Shuten-Douji. And this marks where I think the poll can be kind of out there in terms of results. See, sometimes when it comes to polls, there are 'types' that draw people in. If I went with anyone else besides this character, I feel like the votes wouldn't change much. But this character fills the same sort of type as the Luna, so some votes that may otherwise go to Luna might go to Shuten-Douji. At least that's my working theory. I'm just armchair analyzing this shit. I got no degree in anything related to statistical analysis or psychology or any of that shit. Just making educated guesses based on what I've seen over the year of having these polls. I find it weirdly enjoyable to try to decipher the tastes of my audience and see if I my assumptions and what not are correct. Sometimes they're too correct where the fun is dampened because of it, but whatever.

As for Shuten-Douji, it's been a little while since I did something with this model. Not since 2021, with her first appearance in 2020. I actually considered remaking the model, since it's a bit outdated in terms of rigs, but I just couldn't be bothered. Plus, remaking it with a different model would mean it wouldn't properly be 'returning', you know? I suppose you could say the same about Luna having the new braid, but whatever. It's fine. I was lazy.

For the last character, it took a little while for me to decide on who it should be. While Luna and Shuten-Douji were competing for votes, I needed someone that would not really compete for the same votes. Originally, I had someone in particular... but I decided to make them a set for Halloween, so they were tossed out. They had a very high chance of winning, though. Then I considered Vampire Gentiana for this, since she's kind of opposite these characters, buuuut... it'd be two FFXV characters in the poll, so I decided against that. Instead, I picked a loser, but near winner from last year's polls.

Queen of Hearts Nyotengu. Runner up in both the supporter and public versions of the polls she was in. She DID lose to Red Riding Hood Luna both times last time... but that was normal Luna. And if the Anniversary survey is to be believed, normal Luna is actually more popular than this version of Luna. By 100 votes, or thereabout. As for Nyotengu's performance... in the public poll, which this is also one, it was 29 votes difference between Luna and Nyotengu, and that poll had three other options as opposed to just one like this one. So yeah, I am curious if Nyotengu could redeem herself and win this one. I feel she has less competition this time, or at least competition that is less likely to pull votes from her to another character. Maybe not, but that's why this is an experiment. Plus, I always said I was gonna do something with this Nyotengu and then never did(laziness), so this gives her another chance at that... and if she doesn't win, then I'll probably do something with her after October just because I didn't properly go through with it before. And by that I mean the Queen of Hearts costume. Just gotta make a male rig that is just a human-sized card. Because, c'mon.

Anyways, that's the three characters of this poll. Should be interesting. I imagine not everyone will enjoy the choices, but it's a combination of "what I could think of, and what I think would be interesting in terms of results". I think it'll give me a better understanding of my audience, at least.

Additionally, I had previously mentioned that I was going to do a poll after the duo poll for supporters that would be "Cosplay" themed. I've been struggling with that poll for a while, and instead I've come up with something that is devious, dastardly, and fun(for me). In the true spirit of Halloween, there will be tricks, there will be treats, and there will be tricks and treats. Yes. It's "Heaven and Hell", "Trick and Treat", two polls combined where you vote simultaneously for your trick and your treat! I still haven't finalized or decided on how the poll will work or any of that, but I was in the shower one day and felt like doin' a little trollin' and Halloween's the perfect opportunity for that. So yeah, look forward to that. Or don't.

And lastly, next post will be in a few days, and I'll be teasing some of the upcoming content. Won't tease everything, I don't think, but I'll tease one or two things besides what I've already shown.
