My Totally Objectively Correct and Not At All Subjective Final Fantasy Girl Tier List (Pixiv Fanbox)

Obviously that title is a joke. This is a purely subjective and terrible "tier list" of my fairly loose rankings of Final Fantasy girls. It's not a comprehensive list(because there are a bunch of games I haven't played, and also because a lot of the girls only have artwork associated with them so the comparison is a little less fair when compared to HD models and what have you. Also way too many characters in general), but it's got a fair number of characters.

I know some people take "waifu-wars" very seriously, but keep in mind that opinions are like assholes. Everyone's got one, and everyone's stinks... it's just your nose might not pick up on certain stinks quite as well as others, so sometimes another person's ass actually smells pretty good to you, but to someone else it's like a skunk's asshole and... what I'm trying to say is that if my taste stinks to you, it's aight. I know I got crap taste, but it's what tastes good to me. x)

Anyway, onto this shitshow.

Top Tier

Lunafreya: For me, Luna is in a tier of her own. Probably not a suprise she's my number one FF girl considering my track record. I imagine some can't understand it, considering she is basically a cardboard cutout that has ten minutes of screentime, but I dunno... her entire design is just 10/10 for me. I definitely don't fully understand it myself, but yeah. Really like her.

SSS Tier

Celes: Always liked Celes in VI, and there's a CG of her in the Brave Exvius game(which is what I used here) and she looks extra great there imo. I am disappointed they didn't have her in the leotard from the sprite of FFVI, but I knew that would never happen. They've been putting her in the Amano art outfit since the PS1 CG, so there's no way they'd put her in the leotard nowadays. But, if they ever decide to make a game with HD Celes in it and I can get the model, I am most definitely gonna put her in a leotard. I will not be stopped!

Iris: Probably also not a huge surprise. Also not a hugely present character, and if anything she's grown on me more after animating her for this long. I probably wouldn't have rated her as high back when I started, but she's kind of become a character of her own in my animations so that has kind of elevated her.

Lulu: This one might be a surprise, considering I haven't done a ton with her. It's mainly due to not having the best of models to work with. The one I've got I've managed to get in a better spot, so I'll probably do more with her in the future. That said, she's just really hot. Simple as that.

Aerith: Another non surprise. I was always more into Aerith back when I played FF7, and she's honestly extremely beautiful in the remake, so yeah. Not much else to say in regards to Aerith, tbh. Just a pretty character overall, with a fun personality.

SS Tier

This is where things start to become messy, and I'm sure some people will have their minds blown right about now.

Gentiana: She's also kind of a non-character, but regardless of actual characterization goes, she's got a top tier design so she's pretty high up there.

Jihl: Top tier design, could have been an excellent character and villain in the game. Ruined by Square-Enix's inability to utilize her for more than four minutes before killing her off, a fact that irritates me to this day. Still great looking.

Ultimecia: Her design is weird as hell, but that's kinda why I like her. I've also got a thing for evil/demon/corrupt chicks, so she hits that as well. I dunno, she just does it for me.

Fran: Tall, dark skinned bunny girls are hot, what can I say. Sometimes my tastes are really that simple.

Queen: She's got that stern, glasses chick schtick going, and I've always been a sucker for that.

Nayo: Almost opposite of Queen, in that she's got a more cute librarian vibe going, which I've also always been a sucker for. I'm a sucker for many things.

Yuna: A typical demure and sweet girl, but you kinda can't go wrong with that. My only issue is that none of the models of her are that great. Dissidia's is the best in terms of quality, but it's kinda weird looking at times. Also incredibly high polygon count which lags my system half the time.

S-Tier

Rydia: To be honest, it's mostly the outfit. Those boots and thighhighs, plus the dress all just gel with me.

Vanille: She's cute, if a bit annoying. Also moans too much.

Serah: The better sister. Got a mix of cute and pretty, and the Bible Black look is pretty great imo. Her expanded role in XIII-2 also helped a lot to flesh her character out, which was appreciated.

Aranea: Cool character overall while also being sexy. She accomplished what Lightning tries to do: being badass and hot.

Kyrie: Cute, but annoying character. Also bald.

Scarlet: Definitely a top-tier "mature woman". Not a milf, btw.

Terra: Like her well enough, but she never geled with me as much as Celes did.

Cloud of Darkness: Similar reasons as Ultimecia, but I am less familiar with CoD(i've never even played a call of duty).

Rikku: A bit mixed, since there's a part of me that prefers X Rikku and a part of me that prefers X-2 Rikku.

Quistis: She might be higher with a proper, modern-day CG version, but she's not quite hitting that stern, glasses chick vibe that Queen hits, nor the nerdy, librarian type that Nayo hits. She's just a glasses chick. Which is still good in my book.

Rem: She's just really pretty to me.

Edea: Honestly, both the Ultimecia-possessed and normal Edea are pretty good. I do like the look of the possessed Edea, though.

Y'shtola: I know very little about her actual character, but she's a dark skinned cat girl and I'm a simple man.

Sarah: I also just have a thing for the princess types. A bit too over designed for my tastes, though.

A-Tier

Madam M: I've got a thing for her style in general.

Yuffie: Was never the biggest Yuffie fan, but she's still cute. Just a bit too hyper for my tastes.

Rosa: Just kind of a "blond, princessy" type, so decent I guess.

Alisae: Know very little about her, but I've got her model so I figured I'd rank her based solely on appearances.

Cissnei: I'm actually a bit undecided on if she should be here or in S-tier. Part of the ranking is that her model looks a bit weird to me, but that might change with more shots. As a character, I liked her a lot in Crisis Core.

Ashe: Not a big FFXII fan, but she's alright. Miniskirt is nice.

Selphie: Ditzy train lover who's a bit too hyperactive. Cute, though.

Sice: Attractive and scythes are always cool, if impractical.

Emina: I'll admit, I only got half-way through Type-0 and barely remember it, so I don't even remember who she is really... but I do know she has a scene in her underwear and it's some good underwear.

Deuce: Cute doots.

B-Tier

Monica: A barely there NPC from FFXV, but I find her attractive.

Tifa: Blasphemy in the eyes of most people, probably. Just never been that into her, tbh.

Fang: She's okay in my book, but not terribly special.

Rinoa: She should honestly be lower than this, but she's not quite on the level of the C-Tier for me, and I didn't want to put her in her own tier so she's here.

Penelo: Never was big on Penelo. She's got a bit of a weird face, to me. She's otherwise fine, though.

Cinque: Always viewed her as a ditzy, bootleg Aerith, so never was that interested in her.

Lebreau: She had like, two minutes of screen time in the same way Jihl did, but her design just didn't gel with me like Jihl's did.

Shelke/Rosso/Shalua: I barely remember DoC but they're all alright I suppose. Would have preferred any of them to show up in Intergrade over "Nero the Edgelord".

Neon: Her eyes are weird AF and kinda creep me out, but she's cute at some angles.

C-Tier

Paine: Female Squall, but somehow less attractive?

Cindy: She's attractive, but she doesn't do anything for me.

Cater: Not that interesting to me.

Seven: Bootleg Lightning.

Jessie: Leading up to the remake, I was actually looking forward to an HD Jessie model, but for whatever reason she just didn't do anything for me. Not sure why.

Marle: Granny needs love too.

Lucretia: Slept with Hojo, smh.

Sofia: She's like... a bootleg of a bootleg Gentiana. Doesn't do it for me.

D-Tier

Lightning: I just don't like Lightning, man. For the record: it's mostly because she was the face of Square Enix during their worst years, so I associate her with that same general "bleh" feeling I had back then. It's irrational, but everyone's got some form of irrationality in them.

Materia: Awful design. Absolutely abysmal. Wish we got an HD Cosmos instead of her.

So yeah, that's my shitty tier list. If you read all that, I'm sorry. As penance, here's some previews:
