Gonna go ahead and call the race here. The results were as follows:


Claudia Strife - 127 Points - 31 Votes

Eva - 58 points - 14 Votes

Miyako - 42 Points - 13 Votes

Nora Estheim - 41 Points - 15 Votes

Martha Wayne - 23 points - 8 Votes


Once again, it wasn't close. Was hoping Eva or Martha would win, just for the randomness factor, but I'm actually surprised at how well Eva did in general. I'll admit, the land-slide polls are less fun to me, since I don't get the excitement of wondering which of two or more characters will clutch out a victory. Because of that, I'm thinking to try experimenting a bit with the polls next month. Well, I say polls, but there might just be one. Not sure. I'll have to see how up to it I am. In general, September is gonna be a, hopefully, more relaxed month before October where I get to have my fun. That goes for everything, really. Bi-weekly releases, the polls, and also the general posts. Gnna post less in general next month, just to keep myself focused on Halloween related animations, but I'll probably have a ramble or two to spew out regardless.

Score another one for Final Fantasy! I think I’ve both voted for and predicted the wrong choice every single time. Was really hoping Martha would do better than that…

Hah, suck it!!! Sorry... I do hope you enjoy animating her, you definitely sound like you have your favorites and the ones you want to win. But if you have a model of her then I'm guessing you had intentions to animate her at some point. Otherwise.... Lighting would be in one of these polls. This may sound stupid, but a poll with the looser of previous pools work? Like specifically the ones you wanted to win? This would be a poll centered on you though and you couldn't say wich one you really like because we would vote for it. So maybe not.

To be honest, since FF characters practically win every poll, maybe for the months where you hold two polls, you can do one that has no FF characters within in and another that ONLY has FF characters. I think that would give pretty interesting results for both polls.

It's less my pick not getting picked and more that it's a bit too predictable. It's a little more interesting like the Deuce/Luna/Lobelia/Guan Yinping one where any one of them could have won, as opposed to this where I was 100% sure Claudia would win... and she won easily. It's like... "why even bother having a poll if the winner is that easy to determine" y'know? That's why I plan to experiment with the polls a bit.

Maybe it's time to try less than 5 characters on a poll? The votes are actually pretty evenly split for the looser. Maybe reducing the amount of characters would mean a more contentious result?

That's what I'm gonna try. I think next poll will be 4 characters, and then if I've got the will for it, mid-month poll will be 3.

I mean if you attract certain audience, don't expect sudden change of preferences in pools xD. Maybe separating pools, putting some options out of rotation for 2-3 votes or weighted voting can help it.

This is more of a hassle but I'll toss it out at you just in case. How about an initial poll of five, then another poll the next day or two, with the top 3 of that same poll? A process of elimination kind if thing? Or if you want a twist. Same concept, But the top 2 of the first poll, are actually the looser. And the second round is actually between the top 3 least voted. It's a troll kind of poll, but you have no lack of troll blood in your veins.

Alright so this might be a dumb idea for a poll. But what you think of a month long, "Tournament Arc" poll, for games such as King of Fighters or Tekken? It would start alongside the regular poll of the month and the top 2 would be the last poll of the month. It would run alongside the regular polls, each one being one character less. Of course this would mean managing 2 thing at the same time and for such a long running poll, it would have to have bigger payoff. But since September is a light month for you. It would fit in more nicely.

idk if its because most of your Fans are obviously FF fans, or its because she is "A Strife" and "she is canonly Female Cloud" , because that's a big big gap.

Mby you could put the Eva model to a already existing animation you have made? It is most likely not that easy to make though than I think? I remember when the game came out and people hated on the girls that they looked ugly and that Eva looked the best.

I would suggest to leave out FF or DOA characters out for a while. Even though I am a huge FF fan, it’s nice to see females from other games/genres gate “Lazied” up… Either way…keep being lazy!

There's definitely a FF7 boost to the popularity going on. I would also say there's probably a bit of recency bias as well. I think that might even be why Eva did better than someone like Miyako.

I don't really like to just copy-paste an existing animation onto another character(I may be lazy, but I do have standards), and a lot of times that doesn't even work due to differences in the rig.

I gotta say, I'm starting to see the character bias hate starting to spread a bit too unfairly to IP preferences. This were all extremely rare characters of their own game and in games prn in general. Blaming the fact that Claudia won because she's a FF character is kind of weird to me. She just happens to be this potentially good character model for segs that just so happens to be featured for 1 minute in this very famous game series. With these out of nowhere characters, we really shouldn't be saying "oh of course she won because she's from x" I voted for her because of looks and potential. Not because of the Final Fantasy VII Remake name attached to it. Tho... it is extremely arousing writing "Final Fantasy".... I don't know what it is.... Could be the capital Fs. (っ˘ω˘ς )

I think you're reading a bit too much into it. There's no hate or blame, at least not from me. It's simple analysis regarding what amounts to a popularity contest. I just naturally analyze things and try to figure out how they work, and I'm just voicing my conclusions. Things like "Cloud's mom", "Final Fantasy 7", and "recent game" are all fairly simple observations that are easy to see and understand, especially considering that a big spike of my popularity came from my Aerith content. I'm not upset she won - I fully expected her to win from the start, even have it stated as such in the document I have for my poll selections - my only complaint is that it was so lopsided. I find that much less fun than if it's a close race, or if there's a chance for the expected character to actually lose. That's why I want to experiment a little.

Sure, maybe hate is too strong of a word... And not really coming from you, but from the comments. Eva was honestly my close second pick. But since we see her in distress and scared, from her appearance to her death....30s later?? It's harder for me to have lewd thoughts about her. I'm not that depraved x3. So I went with the one we at least see smile and happy for a little bit. It's just unfortunate that FF has very appealing looking characters. If there's a bias here, it would be more appropriate to call it a Japanese bias. Proved by Martha being last... Interested in seeing what you put on this polls that isn't DoA or FF though.

Hmmm.... As long as you have only one FF character in this polls, we FF-ers will unite our strength and ideologies for that single character. If you want for us to tear each other apart and dwindle our numbers. Then your only choice... Is a main FF character poll... You would be starting a large scale war. Not including FF in the polls... will only make us stronger for it's, inevitable comeback! Think about it....
