Hello everyone,

I know some of you are curious to know about my financial situation considering neither SS nor Fanbox shows the monthly amount earned. And since I haven't done this for a while, I thought I'd do it now.

Let me show you the numbers first.

This is SubscribeStar's amount. There's nothing to say about it. My last post was in June 2022 and I was roughly at $1,100. It's definitely the most steady income. The amount of new subscribers almost equals the amount of people leaving so it's progressing slowly but surely. This amount doesn't take into account two things: the fee taken by SS to transfer money (minimum $20 or 1% if the total amount is over $2,000) and the fee taken by Skrill to 1) Convert it into Euros + 2) transfer it to my bank account (or pay Peak with it). So you can remove a good $50 of that total amount.

Now this is the Fanbox progression. I went as far as August 2022 for two reasons: 1) Because my last post was in June 2022 and 2) To show the significant decrease.

Right now, I'm close to half the income of last year. I am NOT complaining about it. I knew it would happen, it's totally okay. When I decided to focus on The Hunter 2, I know I'd lose a part of my patrons. And I tend to see (even if it's maybe not so true) that pledgers on Fanbox are more here for the 2D content and SS pledgers are more here for the 3D content. As such, it's only logical that I lost half of my income. While the current situation is still a bit unstable, I don't regret at all to focus on TH2 right now. The constant progression of core elements integration work MUCH more smoothly in this situation where we keep working on the game rather than it being shoehorned between two Slice of School updates. If I made H games to be rich, I wouldn't be doing the games I do anyway 8D

One thing to keep in mind though. I also explained that last year but I'll do it again.

This is the value of the Yen for $1. Something you have to keep in mind is that on Fanbox, people pay in Yens and I get paid in Yens. I won't detail everything because the graphics talks for itself but basically, since January 2021, the yen has lost 1/3 of its value.

In my June 2022 I wrote that with 127 000 Yens, I should've earned $1,155 but I only got $945, meaning a loss of $200 just from the rate change.

Well right now, with less income (105 000 Yens), I get $726 instead of $1,022 so with less money earned, the gap of the rate change is even bigger ($300).

Getting less patrons because I choose to focus on TH2 is something I'm fine with because it's my own decision and I knew it would lead to that. I have to admit that losing money just because of the Yen collapsing isn't very awesome. But it's fine. I do buy my share of Japanese content in Yens too, so I get a bit back that way. And technically, what I lose, you earn it. If the yen is so low, it means the tiers are. Currently the equivalent of the $10 tier on SS is paid $7 on Fanbox (I shouldn't say that, some people are going to switch their pledge just for that XD).

Anyway, that's the current situation for now. It's neither good nor bad. It's enough for me to live and keep on working on my games :p (For newcommers keep in mind that I don't earn the total sum of those two sites: if you add them both it's roughly $1,900 so 1,750€, but I pay 1/4 of that amount each month as taxes (437€ + 30€ because here we have a special tax where you pay the supercify of your working space. I'm at the lowest possible (my desk) and I still have to pay an extra 30€ per month to the state just for that). So what I really get is closer to 1,300€. Which is totally fine to live. But for those still wondering about SoV3 and stuff, you'll understand that I can't aford to dream big with such a low resource income.)

I'll see you next time to talk about the next update and its content!

See ya o/

Well, I'll just keep pledging until the dream of SoV3 happens :)
