Hello everyone,

As I stated a couple of days ago, I'm making a post that has nothing to do with my projects, but that I deem very important to mention. If you can, talk about it around you cause things are (once again) going in the wrong direction.

A couple of days ago, Mastercard, the credit card company, decided to force something completely insane. They are forcing all sites using credit card payment for +18 content to ask said creators to furnish official documents to prove their ID and their date of birth (basically a scan of their ID card.) Not only is this based on absolutely nothing justified, but this is downward blackmail as they're perfetcly aware that a lot of people have a Mastercard all over the world. Of course, we can easily suppose that sites who wouldn't comply would see the impossibility to use Mastercards to pay.

Patreon always being the first ones when it comes to gulping dicks until being covered with the raw cum of extorsion, they made a statement right away saying that they'd put this rule in action as soon as possible (after all it's not as if they were the biggest crowdfunding site on the Internet and had some means to fight back. Showing your ass is much better.)

The salt of my post can already make you guess what's my stance on such behaviour. Interestingly enough, this could lead to a bigger shitstorm than in 2017 because here, even vanilla content creators aren't safe. And I'm sure many of them are not necessarily interested in providing their ID card to a random US company that will use those data for God knows what...

As you know, I'm not on Patreon anymore so the problem is not necessarily mine. I VERY HIGHLY doubt it'll have repercussion on Fanbox as US companies LOVE sucking Japan's dick and get rid of their "rightenouness" when money's involved (Paypal's available for +18 stuff on Fanbox and you can buy all the loli mangas you want on Amazon.co.jp). For SubscribeStar I'm a bit less sure, but I don't think they're interested in following Patreon's footsteps: it can create a massive leak of artists that would need a new home and SubscribeStar needs to be able to attract them.

That being said, I know that MANY artists are on Patreon and Fanbox/SS altogether (PeakJump's one of them) and in the majority of the cases, when there's a choice, people pledge on Patreon cause that's where the majority of artists are.

That's the reason I'm makig this post. I think people need to stop feeding Patreon as they're becoming the worst piece of trash every passing day. If you know that some of your creators are having accounts on other platforms like SS or Fanbox, please, switch your pledges to those platforms. Those artists need to know that moving away from Patreon won't destroy their revenue. I know it's a pain, I know all creators don't have other accounts than their Patreon one, but at least for the ones who have, we need to unite and give a huge middle finger to Patreon. Without us creators, and without you patrons, Patreon is NOTHING. Fuck them. And fuck credit card companies.

I'll see you tomorrow for another post about SoVO ♥

But the Problem with SS in my eyes is that you need there a credit card too...

My only hope you somehow get more donators as time goes by. Pity we can't gather japanese audience. If you had the money you could create the greatest content there is, touching almost every fetish. So much time has passed since SoV2 and we are still walking at a turtle pace.

Yeah, they don't have the weight to propose Paypal as a payment option (for patrons nor creators.) Payment as always been the major pain in the ass for adult content. I remember that before Patreon was really successful there was a +18 kickstarter-like site (where Legend of Queen Opala Origins started) but they took 30% of the amount earned. Now I know it wasn't because they were greedy fucks, but because payment processors forced it on them -_-

This is something I'm going to try to change with Slice of School. Even if it's a bit lousy, I'm planning a simultaneous Japanese release. We're working with Hime in pre-prod to make things as easy as possible for SoS to work properly with text export etc... in MZ cause it's a pain in the ass without scripts. Considering I manage to get myself clear with Chiba Tetsutarou, I'll use DeepL to translate SoS. Even if it's not perfect, there are japanese people who should be interested (after all lousy english brings westerners to Japanese games so I don't see why the contrary wouldn't work :p)
