10月26日から27日にかけて北海道大演習場にて開催された第7師団戦車射撃競技会を取材してきました。

3年前の取材では日本ではまだCOVID-19の感染拡大もなく、2022年2月から始まったロシア軍によるウクライナ侵攻など想像できなかった時期でした。

今回の射撃競技会は社会情勢がガラリと変化した中で行われたもので、非常に興味深い取材となりました。

マスクしながらの取材はなにかと面倒だな、という些細な事はおいといて・・・近年では先進国の軍隊は大規模な正規軍同士の衝突からゲリラやコマンド部隊を相手とする非対称戦へ体制を変化させていました。そんな中でウクライナでの戦争が発生し、特に戦車部隊の重要性が再認識される状況が発生したため「やっぱ戦車(対戦車戦)は必要だよね」という流れが起こっているようです。

前置きが長くなりましたが競技会が行われる第1戦車射場のおさらいです。

2019年にざっくり描いた全体図から少しアップデートしました。

競技会の内容は毎年少しずつ変化があるそうで、3年ぶりの今回の競技会はずいぶん変化がありました。

想定シナリオがより実戦的になり、射撃タイミングは小隊長の判断に任される自由度の高い(そして小隊のチームワークがより問われる)内容となっていました。

今回は1枚の解説では分かりづらいので展開を描いてみました。

2019年の取材も戦車の迫力に圧倒されましたが、今回はその技量に驚かされました。

簡単な取材メモではありますが、みなさんに少しでもその迫力や驚きが伝わればいいなと思います。

I was overwhelmed by the power of the tanks in my 2019 coverage, but this time I was surprised by their skill.

This is a brief note of the interview, but I hope it conveys the power and surprise to you all.

＜註記＞

北部方面隊と第7師団の射撃競技会は年ごとに交互に行われていて、今回取材したのは第7師団の戦車射撃競技会でした。

今回の優勝部隊は第72戦車連隊(今回で3連覇)

優勝中隊は同第72戦車連隊第5中隊(2連覇)

優秀小隊は同第72戦車連隊第5中隊第1小隊です。
