A quick look at yesterday's shoot with @laurenemmabird who was an absolute star in the difficult conditions between getting splashed with waves, the slippery rocks, kneeling on concrete or trying to understand a single thing I was saying 😆 all while pulling off some amazing poses.

I had a vision in mind for the shoot but the weather and moon phase had other ideas. I was planning to use the same rocks as two weeks ago but they were underwater.

There is a character in Douglas Adams' “So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish” he's a miserable lorry driver who turns out to be a rain god, rain loves him and follows him everywhere. Similarly I think I'm a cloud repellent. We've had amazing skies and sunsets for two weeks but the one day I go out not a cloud to be seen. It's been a running joke for years. I'd rather a completely overcast day because at least then you can work the lights so much better to get atmospheric moody shots, but in direct sun with the harsh light it's difficult to get a nice balance between flash and ambient light, plus it's near impossible to see the camera screen and what you're taking. It's why I always shoot at sunset, no matter the conditions you're always guaranteed 45 or so minutes of usable light just before the sun hits the water. We did get a nice kick of red in the sky at the end so that was a plus and there's probably a ton of good shots when I finally get to see them. I forgot I had a Black ¼ Mist Filter on the lens which I bought and hadn't used so let's hope I like the effect!

Thank you to Ashley , Hamish and Amber who took this bts shot.
