A wide-shot of the setup at Melbourne Supanova which shows the new 6x3 meter purple material backdrop. We were using 2.8m paper rolls but after a tour (two shows) they were disposed of (or given to a local photographer). This was obviously a recurring cost for the organisation so we looked at a reusable replacement so we I browsed online for some options and while I liked the look of some other materials like vinyl the weight ruled it out as an option.

I settled on the Royal Purple Wrinkle Resistant Background which obviously being new and came out of packaging and was very very wrinkled, so we borrowed a fabric steamer from the celebrity photo booth. which did an ok job but we need to find ways to pull it tighter at the edges to get a smoother surface which we'll do at future events.

The photowall build area is usually 3m exactly which worked fine with the paper rolls that were 2.8m  that gave use room for the support pole and bracket system I had been using, but with a 3m wide material we had no room to work so its going to be interesting at some venues. We were luck in Melbourne we had a 5m or so wall to work with.
