In a couple of weeks I'll be flying to Queensland for the inaugural Manafest a new pop culture element add to the popular Horizon Festival which is "10 arts-fuelled days across the Sunshine Coast, Horizon collaborates to deliver events in performance, visual art, music, comedy, theatre, dance and immersive technologies."

The event is run by the local council and has chopped and changed about since I first started discussions with them but is now a 5 hours event with hopes of becoming bigger and better in future years.

I'll be doing a short 1-hour pop up photobooth (Get in quick), a panel and shooting the cosplay comp, to-which the winners will receive the following day shooting with me at some locations sourced by the organisers.

When I messaged to thanked them for the invite they replied

Just thank your fans! You were the number one recommended photographer they said they would travel for.

Which is very flattering indeed, for some reason I have always been very popular in Queensland and have always had an amzing response ever since my first visit in 2015 for OCC.

Luckily it looks like I might have some helpers for the weekend which I'm so unbelievably grateful for given my current mobility.

Andy Trieu will join his SBS PopAsia co-host on stage to deliver a mad-as DJ set and to interact with the crowd by playing K-pop games! Sit back and enjoy the entertainment with food and drinks at the Japanese-inspired Cosplay Café, run by performance group, A-Muse, and stay for the after party at The Bison Bar from 5pm and grab a ticket to the screening of ‘The Darkest Minds’ at Majestic Cinemas and Event Centre at 7pm.
