BEWARE v011 (Patreon)
Content
Hello everyone, finally v011 is here! Apologies for the extra delay, been getting aprox. 20 frames a second so I had to do some additional optimizing. Now getting 50-60 fps on my now dated rig: i7 4790K + GTX1060
My fastest time traveling from starting point to the big city was about 45 minutes - and yes, finally, the game's world is vast enough for captivating car chases and for the story to unfold properly.
In this build, all lights are on, except for the refinery region. There, you can follow the blueish light which will lead you to an illuminated area. Just ram the fusebox at the end of the road and that will activate the refinery lights, including the orange lit clouds over streetlamp hill.
There are no enemies and no "death" in this build (although there are 4 mine trucks roaming around) - as it's more intended for exploring the map and testing the new car physics. Those are now more slidey (and a proper simulation of wet surfaces) but at the same time, the player car was made more controllable.
Pressing "p" in-game will bring you to the pause menu, where you can choose your input device, by clicking at the steering wheel icon in the upper left corner. For testing purposes, I've bought a T300RS steering wheel. Please do let me know if your device is working properly.

In the VR version, pressing "r" re-centers the camera. I also added a "VR Scale %" slider in the pause menu. 70 will give better performance while 100 higher resolution.
Added a new VR version called v011_VR_d - possibly it could fix the camera re-center issue with SteamVR.
Changed the key for re-center to the good old "r",
There is also a new option in the pause menu where you can enable/disable VR Screen Space Reflections. Default state is now disabled. This should give a good performance boost. Although I managed to modify the code so that reflections will work in VR, it does not play well with z-axis head tilt. This will need to be solved by a professional shader coder as I don't think I can solve it myself and already lost ample time trying.

Feel free to play around with the steer assist values. For keyboard, I'd recommend 0.9 and 0.5 - 0.6 when using a steering wheel.
Looking forward to reading your thoughts, O)
