Hello Patrons,

this weekend was very exciting and a lot of work. I managed to get my hands on Peter's model from the Guardians of the Galaxy video game (which is great and you SHOULD definitely play it).

The original model port however has no face bones which means you can't do poses with it so that's rather useless. At the moment all the tools which are necessary to export skeleton data out of the games files are still in development which means we only have a small area of what we can do at the time.

Thus the modding community is in full eager to finish all the scripts so that we can have the models extracted <3

Baranfan18 who is also a 3D artist (no spoilers but you can see his twitter here -> https://twitter.com/Barafan18 ) gave me his custom version of Star-Lord's model to work with since he managed to do a custom face rig which means that the face is now fully posable.

With the raw model data now in my hands, I was able to port the model over to XPS <- the program I use to create my poses in. At the moment the model is half "finished", posing works and textures are applied. However there's still more work to do here such as tweaking the body and editing more textures.

Here's a test render of his head which I did to test if the model is working and yes it works. Materials aren't finished but as soon as the rest of the model is in a working state, new materials will be created.

This model will be a "placeholder" until the tools for extracting all data from the game are available to the public.

So far I'm pretty happy to have this model since it is something I was waiting for a long time. 😁👍

I don't like to set a deadline when the model is ready to do artworks with but you can expect it to be finished later in this month. A new update post about it will follow of course.

As for now happy Monday and stay healthy
