I mean jeup was an idol and has amazing vocals and technique, being an idol doesn't mean you are not good at singing for example Hyolyn was an idol and her skills are insane. All people here have good talent, although I do agree there's a disadvantage for other vocalists because of idol's fan bases, you are 100% right about that, maybe that's why they incorporated the judge's scores when having candidates of elimination so that way they can keep the ones with outstanding vocals.

I didn't really follow Boys Planet beyond your guys' recaps, so I wasn't really all that familiar w/ any of the alumnus that are now on Build Up. But now I want to go back to watch it just for Jay and Wumuti bc holy hell. It really says something for how much Wumuti tugged on my heartstrings that I was actually relieved when he won, bc as a longtime rock girly Jay's vocals were the exact coordinates of my alley. Wumuti looked for a minute like he might pass out from relief and I can't blame him. How crazy must it feel to get that kind of overwhelmingly positive feedback from titans of the industry after literally years of being so close but always missing debut opportunities?? Tho I think my fav part of the ep was how Jay was so supportive and seemed genuinely thrilled for his friend. It's truly wild to have given the incredible performance he and Bitsaeon did and still lose, so he has to be at least a little disappointed, but he if so he kept it cool on camera and mad props to him for that.

I would assume it also helps that Jay already debuted, he has a group to fall back on if somehow he doesn't make it to the final build up group. Not that I think he wants to win any less than anyone else, but the stakes are technically lower for him.

Ahh, I totally forgot about the Bitsaeon and Jay connection! I noticed it before when going through Peak Time and Boys Planet profiles, never thought about it again until it came up here 😅 I'm glad my No. 1 pick Sunyoul gets to show himself in such a positive way on this show, be it through his reactions/comments or his performances, he surely needs all the PR in this kinda-post-UP10TION era. And Hayoon... if Sunyoul wasn't there, he would be on my top spot. I absolutely adore his voice, I listened to his silhouette clip so many times even before the show started and his performance this episode... 🤯 I'm 100% in it for the girlies with unique voices 🏳‍🌈

Take me back in time would make a great duo, their harmony was great. Hayoon’s voice is great and suits adele songs well❤️🤣But I voted for sunyoul, donghun, lee kwang seok and yun in hwan(from take me back in time team)❤️ but there are so many good singers. I really liked donghun and sunyoul and did not agree with the low 75 points. PLEASE! 🙏 react to sunyoul! I was introduced to Jay and Wumuti during Under19 era and I'm so happy to see the call backs to that time! Wumuti on Under19 was one of my top picks, I constantly go back to the Mirotic stage where him and Byeonghee (JustB Bain) carried the vocals even though they were on the dance team and all the teachers were shook. I would 100% recommend to watch Under19 but it was so long ago and 1the9 has already disbanded :( , but there are a lot of people you would recognize!

Bitsaeon was on Peak Time with Roda (they are from the group MONT together with another member Narachan). One of the judge there Ryan S.Jhun (the mastermind behind lots of SM hits) was so impressed with saeon he says that he’d love to work with him someday

As a long time fan of MONT (bitsaeon’s group) I honestly feel so hurt when some of Jay’s fans started to throw hate towards saeon saying he’s the reason they lost, being so disrespectful towards someone who basically chose an English song to showcase Jay more and suggested the killing part. Almost all of my twt moots from Mont fandom votes for Jay too, but you know what they say when someone asked an honest question why Saeon’s rank is so low “we only support Jay, we don’t do charity”

Yeah it's eh sad, I loved bitseon on peak time, I would recommend just unfollowing and blocking so you don't get it on your feed that's what I did, also did the same watching boys planet when people on twitter were hating on jay and jongwoo, it's so frustrating and I get that it's hurtful. Just remember that the people you see talking shit on twitter are just a small group of people there are soo many more people that watch the show and don't think like that. But I do think the saying " hurt people hurt people" lives a little to strong when it comes to kpop fandoms unfortunately.

i’m taking an intermission after the shinee showdown bc i’m still crying frustrated tears, and i need to find my center lol. so let me just say i think it’s wild how you are actual card holding carats and still had to defend your opinion that songs with 13 parts - ones where about a third of the lines are usually rap - are perhaps not the best fit for showcasing vocalists. i mean, that’s already a common complaint of many vocal unit biased carats! as a booseok girlie myself, i’m always wishing them more OSTs or solo releases so i can enjoy their full talent 🤷🏻
