I’m so glad you’re watching this! Fun fact in case you weren’t aware, beloved ZB1 Matthew was a trainee under Hybe Labels Japan and he mentioned being cut from the audition show lineup very last minute. He’s still really close with a lot of &Team’s members

That would have been wild! I'm sure he would have been awesome in &Team, but tbh they very much skewed the cast of the audition show towards contestants who were already Japanese or relatively fluent in Japanese, and Matthew already has quite a lot of similarities in look and singing style to Maki so it wouldn't surprise me if they opted for the one who wouldn't have to learn a new language to communicate w/ the group. Plus, the golden maknae syndrome struck again, I suspect. But him and Maki did a duet thing that was really great, and I'm glad they're still friends!

Oh yeah, I totally agree that Matthew would’ve been pushed to the outskirts. I honestly think that the reason that he was cut from the show is because of his lacking Japanese ability.

There’s an official music video for the signal song if you guys want to check it out! And as a big stan of both groups, I do agree with the I-land comment especially since K still gets called all sort of things just by breathing unfortunately. But that’s a whole can of worms I don’t feel like unpacking. That’s why I really appreciate the non-toxic atmosphere of &audition. It has a good mix of wholesome editing that showcases the contestants as more of a team than competition, the debut group has enough security to lead the others but not be above them or criticism, and the smaller scale lets you get to know everyone individually as well. When I first watched this, I definitely thought the &ball/&ring concept was so unnecessary and still do tbh. I get that there needs to be stakes and something to enforce the teamwork narrative but the poor execution and transparency with how they distribute it just makes it seem like a load of bs lol. I’m really glad you’re tuning in and getting into &team! Even their growth outside of the show is so amazing that I can’t wait to get into it

Love this! I came into the show as an EJ bias after watching the debut group's youtube content, then was basically instantly a Harua bias among the other trainees.

Fr haha for me it was the journey. Like I didn't pay attention to him at all prior to the show (I was a Taki bias), but as we watched it liked showed aspects of him that I admired. And then that admiration grew until he finally moved up to my bias right before their debut haha

I sadly didn't have time to watch their survival at the time, so I'm so excited to finally be seeing it! I have stanned them since debut - Under the Skin is one of my favourite debuts ever!! And yes I know it was technically a prerelease, but still.. I hope I don't get too sad about the trainees that didn't make it :(

So the title track and pre-debut song is 'Under the skin' while 'Scent of you' was their debut track. But yes I remember there being some confusion about which was which 😅 From what I remember some fans explaining, for Japanese artists, they tend to release their title track before the release of the album. It's a way to promote the upcoming album. Don't quote me on this though lol it was quite a while ago.

I remember seeing MAKI when I was watching &AUDITION the first time and thinking, "Again? How did HYBE end up with three boys with the given name Riki?!" I think NIKI's the only one with his real surname revealed (Nishimura), but we know TAKI's and MAKI's real names are also Riki. Not the most uncommon Japanese boy's name for their generation, but also not the most common, either!

I'm so thrilled that you guys are reacting to this!! I watched the first 4 episodes when they originally aired, then fell off cause life happened, but then during awards season when I saw Nicholas & EJ on the 'My First Mama Mate' with ZB1 and BND, and then watched their incredible ASMR video... it led me into such an &team spiral, I’ve been looping their album for a month and just completed an &audition watch literally 2 days ago! Please excuse the itemized list of comments I'm about to drop. I just have a lot of thoughts: 1. Huge respect to Nicholas for learning a 4th language for this project. Like, imagine leaving your home country to move to Korea and live your dream of becoming a Hybe trainee and hopefully K-pop idol, going on I-Land, learning Korean, getting eliminated from I-Land, but you're still a Hybe trainee and now you speak 3 languages, and then Bang PD calls you into his office like "Good news, I'll let you debut! But listen. It's gonna be J-pop. You have to learn Japanese now; 3 languages isn't enough. Also, it's an Omegaverse-themed group. Better get ready to howl." 2. Happy to hear you guys are fond of Maki! Did you know that he was a musical theater kid, and supposedly joined &audition after seeing Sunoo do aegyo on I-Land??? Incredible lore. 3. Also, beloved beret Harua!! He has such a sweet voice, glad you noticed that. 4. Lastly, the &Balls and &Ring are so stupid. The "if you don't fill up this ring, none of you will debut" thing always had me rolling my eyes, like, girl, I'm watching the show! It would not have aired had you decided to scrap the whole group!! Anyway, thanks for reading if you made it this far. I can't wait for the next installment <3

Came for &Audition because like you guys, I fell in love with a bunch of boys on I-Land and now here I am running around and chasing after them lol! I still remember when Nico scared the beejeezuz out of Taki with that voice. It was so funny. People are still so weird about K. He is &Team's performance leader. We've seen that over and over again. Lune's King and he was meant to be in &Team. He is the Center. This is where he belongs. Hikaru was one of my picks. I love him so much. So most people followed K and Taki to &Audition but for me, I was following EJ and Nico. I was so unbelievably happy to find out they were part of this group! They are a set and come together and can never be separated lol! So I will be dropping full essays here for this show. So happy I get to watch it with you guys!
