can't wait to see you guys cry like your pet just died!!

PK

If you told me Iā€™d be feeling all these emotions for Woongkiā€™s quirky lil bl moment Iā€™d call the nurses. My jaw was always on the floor when I wasnā€™t crying over this. I thank God Sunbae everyday for giving him a role for a drama like this and Miss Directorā€™s first directing gig directing her heart out

Would love to see more reactions to love for loveā€™s sake behind the scenes and lives

Darsh

now that I watched it a second time, I understood it a lot better but I still don't get the system error thing? why does it keep happening? does it serve any purpose? Can someone explain ?! :(

Christopher Carpenter

Right now Iā€™m at work and canā€™t wait to watch this. Iā€™ve already shed so many tears over these last two episodes and Iā€™m getting misty-eyed just thinking about this.

Maeva

yeah same, the story is complex. but i think the errors happen bcs myungha has changed so many things in the story. A few episodes back there was this checklist of all the good things that happend to yeowoon since myungha is there but it's kinda like the butterfly effect that every change has a big concequence. The server is basically crashing so that's why they had to kill of a character but myungha decided not too and therefore the days are becoming shorter but the game is can't handle it all, that's how i see it.

the journey. . . If you want to cry more, I recommend Kiseki: Dear To Me if you haven't seen it already.

I saw someone on Twitter say that it was because he was drowning in water, so the water short-circuited the game and made an error but the errors just started last two episodes so I'm not sure anymore,

Lesley

I'm so glad you guys watched this! My face was just like your faces the whole time - mouth agape, tears. It's so well written and acted. Ditto the person above who asked if you could do behind the scenes, etc. (but they are really slow on their translations, sigh).

rob andres

Make sure to drink plenty of water!

As I said in the Discord already, I had so many questions at the end, so many things didn't make sense, but I still really enjoyed this, mainly because of the acting (and beautiful cinematography. I mean, that scene when Myungha is standing at the water and 2/3rds of the screen is a rocky beach.. ugh.. Cinema!!) I didn't think I'd cry again tbh but going over why Myungha ended up in the game and his last conversation with Sunbae was just so heartbreaking.. I really enjoyed watching this show with you! Thank you for the reactions <3

tiff

idk if yall have ever watched FLCL but the soundtrack reminds me of it. soooo so good

SPOILER WARNING . . . . TW. Suicide . Iā€™m still a bit confused about the ending, donā€™t get me wrong I love the show and I love (and hate) a show that makes me think this much. BUT there is this nagging feeling in the back of my mind that itā€™s sending a dangerous message, that if you ā€œgive upā€ youā€™ll get a second chance in a different life - which is maybe just me projectingā€¦ idk I like the show and the ending very much but it feels like a guilty indulgence almost, like too beautifully good to be true in a way that almost makes it sad again. I guess it could be seen as a ā€œwriterā€ rewriting a better life for someone they lostā€¦ which no one could fault them for, but also just so incredibly sad, ā€œthe happy ending that could have beenā€ is the most depressing trope honestly. Idk maybe Iā€™m just inherently flawed in that I canā€™t accept a happy ending at face value. Please tell me why Iā€™m wrong and should just shut up and enjoy the show. Maybe itā€™s nice enough to just believe in that alternate universe where the people who are able to comfort each other find each other and live a beautiful life. On a less serious note I do have a running rough draft of a fan fiction for this in my head so likeā€¦ how am I different from some omnipotent writer playing characters lives? šŸ™ƒ

In past episode many was like "what is sang won's character for" but I think last episode showcase he is placed there as well as a channel. Like when Myungha was deleted in the memories, Sang won becomes the reason how the characters are actually connected in some ways, he is part of the track team, close with shi a and kyung hoon and such. But yeah, we still also want more from his character if only this one have more episodes

I would love to see a full review/wrap up for this series from you guys once youā€™ve processed the ending more! Like where it sits in your rankings and things šŸ˜Š For me itā€™s undoubtedly my fave of the year, and after rewatching it 3 times now I feel like I picked up on all the little hints and clues that bring the story together. I think a lot of things are open to interpretation though, not in a way that there are plot holes that need explaining, but the creators trust the audienceā€™s intelligence to fill the gaps with theories based on the information weā€™ve been given. I love it so much for that, discussing with friends and reading discussions online has been one of the most fun things about it šŸ˜

For anyone that likes the concept of the show, itā€™s a pretty popular genre in danmei (Chinese bl novels). Itā€™s called transmigration or sometimes tagged reincarnation where the MC typically dies and wakes up in a book or video game. Some donā€™t have a system but a lot do. For novels with a system, I would recommend the Scum Villainā€™s Self-Saving System by MXTX or Mistakenly Saving the Villain by Feng Yu Nie and for a transmigration novel without a system Iā€™d recommend Married Thrice to Salted Fish by Bikabi. I know thereā€™s some manhua and manhwasā€™s that use the trope but I personally havenā€™t read any.

Another thought to add onto this essay for no one - SECOND SPOILER WARNING FOR ā€œONE ROOM ANGELā€ As someone in their 30ā€™s who has felt lost and hopeless I honestly would have preferred something closer to the ending message in One Room Angel, which I know is obviously a very different story (and not really a bl in my opinion)ā€¦ but I do think it shares a lot themes and the ending wraps up those themes in a more realistic and ironically hopeful way even though itā€™s at best bittersweetā€¦ if not a mostly sad ending. But the idea that you can dig your heels in and find a reason to live even if youā€™re old and lonely is more uplifting than escapism to me. ā€œI received and was able to give. Even someone like me had something I can do. So, probably, lifeā€¦ isnā€™t so badā€

Kyle Simmons

it would have been really wild if Woongi's character's boyfriend comes to visit at the ending scene and they got Lee Seunghwan to play him, maybe manifest it for a spin off for Kyunghoon.

anisotropes

i will never be over "i feel like a trojan woman" like mmhmm i was on the shores, mmmhmm my son is DEAD

Maeva

I hope we can get a recap for all the episode bcs i would love to here some reflective thoughts!!

Daniel

We need to know where it falls on the tier list and axis!

Talked about it on discord, but after rewatching Iā€™m pretty sure the only way I find the ending satisfying and consistent with the rest of the show is if itā€™s all Tae Myunghaā€™s post-death limbo and the ending is his final afterlife. A real world canā€™t be a video game filled with system errors that sometimes make the world crumble but only for a single person in that world who is also the only one who engages with a UI interface. Itā€™s also the only way to explain the Yeowoon dead in an accident shot in one of the earlier episodes (also the fact that cosmic seonbaenim has his entire life in book form in limbo Addamā€™s Family Values restaurant). Also the way Yeowoon acts in the breakup scene makes me pretty confident he, just like Myungha, still hates himself somewhat since heā€™s so willing to morph himself into what Myungha wants. Unfortunately I think the show didnā€™t really have all the logic of the world figured out as they wrote it which is why the audience needs to jump through so many hoops to make everything consistent. I shouldnā€™t be in the last two episodes debating whether itā€™s a real world that happens to be a faulty video game (in which case wtf), a fantasy made up for Myungha (in which case why him and not everyone else; also then the ending feels somewhat masturbatory), or itā€™s a test for the afterlife (in which case, is it masturbatory for the same reason as the former or are some of the other characters also dead people in the afterlife and if so then why is Myungha the only special one). Even though I do like the dialogue writing and I really liked the way they handled the LGBTQ+ issues, I think this script could have fallen really flat if not for the great acting, particularly Taevin. The cinematography and production is great too.

Kyle Mest

I donā€™t think heā€™s not playing the ā€œvideo gameā€ prior to the drowning, unless the twitter poster is suggesting the entire show is a hallucinatory psychotic breakdown. And errors have been happening before the last two episodes. I think the story is complex, but the reason itā€™s not totally adding up for everyone is because the world is a bit half-baked from conception which leads to inconsistencies between the final episodes and the rest of the show. Thereā€™s a difference between leaving the audience to connect the dots, and expecting the audience to do a triple axle while making an excel chart of every scene and its aspect ratio.

Kyle Mest

I think itā€™s in their problematic faves category. I overall enjoyed Kiseki despite issues with the whole ā€œheā€™s a minor!ā€ problem.

Kyle Mest

Gurrrll, moments of the show made me want to go full Hecuba and start poking eyes out.

Lily

me: "oh no he Virginia Woolfed into the river" Adam 2 minutes later: "He really virginia woolfed right into that river." He also Holly Hunter in The Piano-ed into that river

If youā€™d like to decompress from all this trauma, I suggest you watch this video of Lee Tae Vin in his Idol days putting together a jigsaw puzzle. Itā€™s more Zen than a Bob Ross episode. https://youtu.be/OWB8tVfOeAY?si=kNEAGCTATcBVDTx2

this is probably the best drama ive ever seen, but FUCK THIS DRAMA FOR THE EMOTIONS IT PUT ME THROUGH
