If y'all haven't, I NEED y'all to get into EarthMix. ALL of their series are amazing. Their first project, "Tale of A Thousand Stars", was Mix's acting debut and it devoured!!! and "Moonlight Chicken" was obviously a master piece. They have other shows, but these are my favorites from them.

The end cameo is Mix, my love. Mix of EarthMix. I don’t know if you guys have watched A Tale of Thousand Stars, but it’s my favorite Aof show (though LT is coming for my throat) and my favorite BL period, haha. He's in a ton! Including Midnight Chicken, which I know gets suggested to you guys a lot. But ATOTS is the girl. Honestly, his cameo gagged me the most this episode!

Shout out to the pool for one last cameo~ Let me do a cute little compliment sandwich (bc I do forget to say I enjoyed rewatching this show through the reaction). For starters, Mew not actually accepting Boston’s apology is amazing. It’s so good and honestly, the most realistic part of the show. They weren't really friends to begin with, so why be friends after the mess? Everyone acted so good for a show that could’ve been corny, but they brought so much tension to their scenes with their acting and I agree, Neo added so much to Boston. All the theories we had for his character's motivations stemmed from Neo’s subtle acting choices (not the writing). This finale was weirdly… boring? Lol. This was just an episode to tie up loose strings, which is alright, and all the fluff was super cute and did have me kicking my feet, but the show lost its bite. For a melodramatic show, the ending had hallmark vibes. I actually mirror a lot of the sentiments Adam and RJ had through the episode. In my opinion, Boston’s apology was lame. All that because of his “desire”? What does that even mean? It really showed they gave Boston’s character no motivation, other than being a plot pusher/chaos gay. There's no actually reason for anything at the end, which cheapens the drama that caused all the conflicts. I agree, he’s really punished for promiscuity (which makes the show feel weirdly sex negative ☹). His ending with Nick just sort of ends? He disappears and that’s that, I guess. Nick’s ending is more egregious to me. He just vanishes and we have zero idea where he ended up. Like Adam said, there’s no resolution. It feels like season 2 bait, which I dislike for any show. If there is a season 2, I only want Nick/Mark to return. Boston/Neo is allowed to make a cameo. Lol. The lack of character for Cheum was also sad. She was advertised as much as the boys, but she only ended up being a lesbian savior to the gays. Lots of stories have a character that will help the MC talk through their problems, which is great, but I just wish she wasn’t advertised as a main player. The result was disappointing and just made her a target for hate. I’ve really said my peace with everything else, haha, so I won’t keep harping on the show’s weaknesses. This show had its moment and when it was fun, it was so much fun. I LOVED The Warp Effect and Three Will be Free, so I will always tune into Jojo's works. Can’t wait for GMMTV’s 2024 showcase part 2 to see these actors again. I’ve also never watched the Eclipse and now I have to! And Mark needs to be the lead in his own show! I’ll be sat.

Just a little tidbit to add fuel to the firstkhao dell fire - they can't say 'I love you' to each other without crying, and they said in an interview that if they have solo schedules they share their additional wages with each other 70/30. We're all pretty sure they're just unofficially married XD

Honestly, while I loved this show - because the writers made so many changes, a lot of the issues became almost redundant. Half way through the series, SandRay started feeling more like the leads and tbh I would have preferred it - the TopMew storyline kind of ended up a bit eh. You can tell with the SandRay dancing scene that they just said "First, Khao, here's some music, go for it." However overall, I will say, a LOT of explanations for things are in the book but not the series - SPOILER: ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Top is more of an asshole but he actually does a LOT more to win Mew back; Ray's history of abuse via his parents and his addiction to alcohol is explained too (his mum was an actress-turned-scandalised-unmarried-pregnant woman who blamed Ray for the end of her career, and she drank herself to death etc. His dad was also abusive.) Boston is also explained a lot more. They really missed out on exploring these things sooo much more because they caved to online pressures. I'd still give the series a 7-8/10, but it could have ended so much better.

Mixx is so cute! I feel like First is also like Neo he can have chemistry with anyone, he killed it in Moonlight Chicken and Not me with different pairings.

Boston wasn't being "punished" for promiscuity at all. He slept around just as much at the beginning of the show and still he had a great friend group. It was being cruel and not caring about the people who cared about him that he was being punished for. He let his wants (and they are 'wants' not 'needs') rule over his care about people he loved.

Sorry, I meant more that the writers punished him. People can live happy lives in more open relationships, but Boston failed to properly communicate that to Nick and get his consent, so he ended up dumped. As he should've. It just feels weird that the guy who's the most promiscuous is the main villain of the show and ends up alone while everyone else gets a HEA. There's a world where Boston still got dumped by Nick and still ended up better than he started in the show, but Boston didn't really have an arc. He could just admit his feelings at the end, which is great but compared to the other characters is kind of a nothing pie. I think the writers did set up something interesting with what looked like jealousy and competitiveness from Boston in the beginning, but it didn't go anywhere (and I think we only got that from Neo's acting). His "desire" being the only reason he destroyed his friend group feels lazy. And my question is "why did he want it so bad"? Why did he HAVE to sleep with Top, if that was the only reason? He could've slept with anybody, but chose top. Boston apologized for his desire, but where did that desire come from? It lacks motivation. I'm just left with more questions at the end of the show. It feels anticlimactic.

The amount of "i am so over this" expressions Adam has made in this episode is amazing lol because same. For me, the finale was anticlimactic and just kept dragging on. I really don't understand why they needed the fire scene?? Neo's acting killed me, I really felt sorry for him even though I don't quite agree with what his character did. But his puppy dog eyes won me over lol Can't wait for the recap and review!

If you watch any interview with firstkhao your delusions will only grow stronger LMAO i completely agree that they're like. obsessed with each other in some capacity. they do everything together, they've been planning to move in together, even before they were an official ship/while they were actively promoting with other partners they would spend literally all their time together, they share funds, they cry everytime they talk about how much the other means to them...crazy

When Mix showed up and had instant drama w Mew I thought they were setting it up for a S2 which they hadn't originally planned but the series was more popular than they expected so they scrapped the original ep 12 that had nothing to do w the BnB and changed everything at the last minute. Now they're set up for an ongoing series set in a BnB w a revolving cast

I'm a Boston defender until the end, and that's not my affection for Neo spilling over because I'd never even seen that man before watching Only Friends. Other girls say to stay away from him, but I'm different! I'd stay by his side until the end and let him do anything, I mean a n y t h I n g he wanted 🎀 blinded by lust, you say? Mind your own business. The other day I saw two people having a conversation on twitter that went like this: Person A: "What's Boston known for?" Person B: "Cream pies..." ...and I know that, technically, this conversation was about the city and not the OF charter, that these people have probably never heard of the show, but TO ME the conversation was about the Only Friends character Boston and that can be something so personal.
