its the way i saw kurosawa's mom, when they asked for her blessing, my literal first thought was rj's exactly!! My mind was going "is she hesitant because kurosawa's her only son??? like she 'won't get grandkids' or whatever??? god thats so fucked up" this movie's so unfair. Its depiction of the queer experience is so raw and visceral

No matter how many times I watch this damn movie, I end up crying every time. Not that I am complaining, but that’s not what I expected from a Cherry magic movie at all. Also, completely agree that the movie is shot so damn well. On another note, I hope you guys react and review Old Fashion Cupcake someday and draw some parallels between these two office romances from Japan.

This movie put you guys through it! I had such a hard time bc I'm a sympathy crier! Lol. Such a good reaction and its made me so nostalgic. Waiting for the international release of this movie was TORTURE. They are such a cozy couple and as an asexual person, my fav fan theory was that Fujisaki was ace, so it was always so heartwarming when you guys gave her love :) Thank you for the reaction!!

cried the first time i watched and cried again with you guys. this movie means so so much. i speak Japanese adachi saying "I love you' (aishiteru) has sooo much more impact in Japanese since Japanese people only really say aishiteru at weddings or on someone's deathbed - it's that serious. adachi saying that to kurosawa's mother knocked the breath out of me, they are so devoted to one another. thanks for the reaction! makes me happy for this movie to devastate others as much as it did me.

I loved the movie, but every time Kurosawa found that happiness with Adachi (moving in together, introduction to parents, Adachi's "I love you", Adachi's family's "Welcome to the family", and the wedding!!!!), I remembered how impossible Kurosawa saw that future/happiness 1 year ago... those very conformist thoughts that Kurosawa had: and < Forgive me for loving you>. I was crying thinking about how immensely happy Kurosawa must be in those moments, and I would have liked to hear his thoughts!!
