Mai is super gorgeous, during her section I was just stunned. It was super regretful that Yui was eliminated this early, I really wanted her to see more of her. I feel like that the cast of second season is more memorable than the cast of the first, like I was only interested in people who made in part 2 and Nicholas, and here I like more eliminated girls.

This!! In iland one I really only remembered the most notable people but in iland two I think I could name a majority of the girls and some moments from them. I think every contestant that made it to the next part is memorable and talented and I'm glad

After watching this episode when it aired, I realized I actually loved every contestant in the top12 and would be pretty satisfied no matter who made it in the end, and it was a nice feeling to not be so worried lol

Yeeun has the same unattainable girl next door vibes and looks that Suzy (Miss A) did. This for sure won't be the last we've seen of her. Ugh Mnet really set up Koko and Yui to be broken up from the VERY FIRST episode.. Watching this back, I realize they already had quite a lot of Japanese trainees make pt 2 (Mai and Fuko already in, Koko made it, and Yuju who is half made it too). I know Japan doesn't necessarily vote for Japanese trainees, but I feel like Yui must have gotten the short end of the stick in terms of her home country's votes

So a few things that were surprising during the LIVE viewing was obviously Koko and Lingling. While we knew Koko would make it to Part 2, I don't think we expected her to get that high (but deserved honestly) and Lingling as you guessed was superrrr popular with I-Fans. She had a huge fan base even at the beginning of the show, so it was a huge shock that she didn't make it in. Ye Eun is similar in that she was the most popular in Korea. I think it was because votes were 50/50, neither were as popular in the other boat and it was a 6 Pick vote. And lastly was Juwon. The girls seem happily surprised that she got Part 5 because she despite her talent (and how much she reminds us of ILand 1 trainees), she was super underrated. Juwonders worked really hard voting for her and working with other fandoms to get her in their 6 pick. It was also funny because despite the small fandom, we were confident she would get 5th 😆

I remember how people were doomposting about Yeeun, they were SO SURE she would make the group! But yeah, I think that she was probably Taki of I-Land 2. Someone with potential and sweet personality but not quite ready yet.

watching this live was a gag because Lingling's fancam views were always like crazy high, 2nd next to Jeemin's so everyone knew how popular she was internationally.

Unfortunately I think Lingling had more of a Dang Hong Hai storyline where SEA rallied for her in the beginning but then when it came to 6 pick, she fell. She received the lowest Korean votes afaik. Side note, there were a lot of upset Lingling fans because of the i-mate support benefits (the 100% they showed) - one of the benefits was a coffee truck, and because Lingling was eliminated she was not given the truck, only Jeemin and Sujung were. Also fully agree that it's almost impossible to connect to Jeemin in I-land 2 without knowing the RU Next storyline. The tl;dr version of it is that Jeemin was always mentioned as the kindest and most thoughtful trainee, but that whenever she was given power, the decisions she made for herself would hurt her. Then, when she didn't have any power to make decisions in the show, and she just had to deal with the part she was given, she would always slay. And that's the same thing that happens here, like with her choosing Part 4 to play it safe compared to Rain On Me Jeemin who just had to do her best in the creative unit and slayed.
