I have to admit it was really hard to come up with a new artwork for the first post of 2021. I think it's the pressure of new year's, that you suddenly feel the urge to come up with something meaningful, be better than before and do something different.

After a bit of thinking, I decided to discard all of these feelings and just closed my eyes and thought about something, that I would enjoy making. I had a note in my list for a space station interior for a long time and I immediately liked the idea. I imagined a very bright and calm space with a great view of earth, comfortable enough to do some work, to learn and read in peace.

I would call it the ultimate home office :)

I searched for some references and decided to go for a science fiction setup. Nothing crazy, just enough in the future, that the room can be in some spinning ring with artificial gravity.

I thought about doing soming similar to ISS too, but there would be a crazy amount of details involved and I would had to pay close attention to science of the layout and equipment. So science fiction it is!

There were a lot of quality futuristic habitat images, so I've collected a bunch and started exploring the possibilities.

It's always a bit daunting to lay the first line down, but remember. You have eraser! :) From the gathered references, I liked some creative cutouts in walls, so I've decided to use that idea for the window. I combined it with elevated bed, which allows for a lot of storage space underneath. It's a science fiction, but it can be practical right?

After some previous sci-fi shots, the plant in the glass container became some sort of my stamp, so I definitely included one and placed it near the window as a replacement of a traditional plant in the pot.

During my research, I saw a ladder with a hatch opening and I thought it would be a great way to introduce a door, while keeping the space effective and small. The rest was just brainstorming a lot of panels, storage lockers and details like cables and control panels.

So that's it for the space station room and I really hope it can help you in your next work.

See you in the next one! :)
