There are lot of gaming setups all over the Instagram and I got hundreds of requests to do one, so the inspiration for this one is kind of a no brainer. It was bound to happen eventually, I just postponed it several times.

I didn't just want to jump on the bandwagon without thinking it through and most of all, without feeling excited for the idea. And recently I got myself a portable projector and really started to imagine, how my gaming and digital lounge setup would look like.

Oh Pinterest, you endless vortex and king of procrastination. But at the same time, sometimes it's the best place to quickly explore some ideas and throw them on your PureRef board. Especially when it comes to interiors, Pinterest has it all. First I gathered some more flashy setups but quickly realized, that I want to look for something more clean and down to earth. I like ambient lighting, but would't want to spend my time in RGB hell :)

From what I saw, I really liked the idea of framed posters above the desk, clean black and white furniture design and a little bit of violet ambience. That should do the trick.

I kept the sketch pretty basic, I knew I would fill in some more details later, but I focused mostly on the layout. I knew I wanted to include the sofa for the projector lounge and have some place left for the main desk.

With isometric dioramas, you have to account for the fact, that you have only two walls to show your idea, so you have to make some compromise. I left out some things from the final design, like the conference table and one poster and rearranged the shelves.

When modeling for a semi-realistic result, you need to take some shortcuts if you want to be quick, so here are some tips I used for the modeling process.

So that was the gaming room scene for this week. Thanks for reading and I hope it will help you with your next work.
