Last couple pages been seeing a lot of people assuming that Luna is going to die or self sacrifice herself or something. This page I think gives me a little hope that they're wrong. She says "This may be the very last evening..." and to me that means there's a chance that they might be together again which therefore she'd have to be around to do that. Whatever is going to happen the next day is going to be terrible I'm sure, but I'm not writing Luna off the mortal coil just yet.

i think rather than luna dying she is crying because when they become knights they will travel and she will have to let them go, and with them facing many dangers you never know if this indeed will be the last peaceful dinner at home, luna loves them truly like a mother would love their children

Luna is not going to die. But she is sending her children to face Rah'jan's evil. Even If they come back alive, there is going to be a lot of growing up, and the Mira or Chili who return will not be the same as the Mira or Chili that are raving about those burgers or complaining about what a jerk Leo is. Luna is coming to terms with the pain she set herself up for when she adopted these two.
