I made these sketches for the game Scorn, and I must say it's one of my favorite games. It feels like this game was made for me, with the haunting aesthetics, and I love it even with all of its flaws. And I love the art book even more, which adds a ton of extra lore and concept to the game, tons of fantastic and interesting stuff that has been cut out in the end (like locations and creatures), which would have made it even more complete. But I loved the cut creatures the most, because those really got my imagination going.

In a nutshell, Scorn is about hopelessness, isolation, and decay. That’s what the lonely main character represents when he starts his journey in a dying world. But I wanted to draw several characters together because, when you meet companions and friends during a difficult journey, things don't seem so hopeless or the horrors are more bearable. I know this is the exact opposite of what the game tries to achieve, but I can't help it; this is how my brain works :D

However, I had another goal with these sketches. It makes me sad that the "mold man" didn't appear in the game more, but in my fantasy he would have a lot of roles. For example, the minimum would be that a lot of puzzles could be solved only with his help :D And the art book even had a female version of the scorn guy! I liked that a lot too :)

Anyway, I hope you like them :)

Dismal worlds are kind of my thing too, but don't think I'm going to be able to play Scorn any time soon.

Ah-ha, I knew you would loved this game due to its H. R. Giger influence and some of your previous sketches. It was totally made specifically for you! Love the fleshy duo.

Man, I really love Scorn when I played it on Game Pass. A lot of people were pretty disappointed with the game because it wasn't a pure horror nor a shooter but simply a puzzle game with light shooter elements. Personally, I was only interested with the aesthetic and I wasn't remotely disappointed with it. I really like how bizarre but somewhat familiar the environment was. How every room had hundreds of stories that is not lost in this dying world. I especially love the pure blend between organic and mechanical. I do wish that the game was a bit longer considering how half of the content was cut, but I'm happy with what we got and hope another Scorn will come sometime in the future.

I liked the world of the game, but the actual gameplay was… blegh.
