"Temple of Life"

Scorn just recently released on Steam, and after I finished it, I was inspired to draw something about it. I thought a lot about what it should be, and because I rarely draw large sceneries, I decided to make one.

This picture isn't really a fanart, more like a heavy inspiration. I tried to use item- and character designs from the game, but I came up with most of the picture.

I backed this game on Kickstarter like 8 years ago. I know that the players have mixed opinions about it, but I really liked it. I was very sorry that it was so short compared to how long it was made. This is one of the biggest problems with it. And because it's short, there's not much in it. But I still liked it a lot, and I always will. I absolutely love Mr. Giger's style, and they nailed it perfectly.

While not a backer, I've been following Scorn quite regularly, as I absolutely vibe with the aesthetics. Definetely there is a lot of burnout from the fanbase regarding how much it took to be made, the length and other controversies that happened along the way. Still it seems quite the interesting and artistic experience.

I've actually been following Scorn too. I actually kinda like the artwork, it's both scifi and mysterious as well as otherworldy. I do ignore some of the sexual innuendos though and just focus on eerie stuff.

Looks very HR Giger in style.

Oh, so that's why those towers vaguely look like penises.

Makes me think of some of the alien landscapes draw by H R Giger. Very cool!

Exactly what I aimed for :) Look up H.R. Giger, if you haven't heard about him yet ;)

ÄlveKatt

He is most famous for designing the alien monster and alien ship in the movie Alien.

H. R. Giger was fascinated with exploring the intersection between Pleasure and Technology. Kind of a Gothic Transhumanist Artist. Very fascinating to read about his work. I've spent more time than I care to admit reading about him and other artists.
