Here's the finished page 60.

I think I could show a very opposite feeling to the previous happy family moment with the colors

Hope you like it! ^^

I knew it. This what I predicted last week. Screw those stuffy jerk rhinoceros...rabbit... hybrid thing parents.

First of all YES, fantastic and emotive color selection, I love it! Also wow really, he didn't get accepted on the first try so you're done with him? Worst parents ever. I'm kind of curious what it was Luna saw/knows that had her tell him he's not ready? Like, is he not self-aware (the only reason I want to be a guardian is because I was told so) or is he something else? I want to know!!!

That poor little lad

No! No! Bad parents! Bad! But yeah... excellently emotive colors and just sucking the life out of their interactions *with their own child what is wrong with you people*.

Something tells me that the Tree did this to prevent Nigel's family from becoming too obssessive with the post of guardian. They were taking their position and using it to lord over others because they came from a line of 'pure' guardians, to the point where it was to be expected that every child of theirs was to be a guardian whether they wanted to be or not. The Tree likely wants guardians who enlist of their own will for their own reasons as they'll be far more effective at the job than a noble family using the role for a status symbol. I wonder whether Nigel will realize the Tree's reasoning or if the rejection by his family will turn him against the Tree entirely... And if the Tree herself expected this and has done it to create a nemesis for the guardians to keep them sharp.

It doesn't get much more toxic than conditional love.

I wonder if they know something that he doesn't, like this being the standard 'let them down gently' response.
