Hello hello sweeties!

This is a little unusual to share, but here it is!

The past year I was giving classes to particular students in an Academy. This year I have kept one of my students, and every two weeks we have a class!

This is what I shared with her the other day. We were trying different lighting effects inspired by some photos from Pinterest.

A little bit:

  • Sunset: over the base colors, I added a layer with some purple-ish and blue-ish soft tones in multiply mode, and painted (in this same layer) some lighting areas with yellow. After that, I painted with an orange tone over the colors, in overlay mode.
  • Blue: for this one I also added a new layer in multiply mode with some cold and darker tones. The difference this time is that I painted a darker background so I could add some contrast with the lighting. This lighting was painted over the color base and the lineart in a white (but no pure) tone. You can use the Add and Screen modes for this as well, and then adding some gradients of clear tone to make a soft transition.
  • Under the trees. This is a really nice process! It’s basically the same: adding a new layer in multiply mode, including some cold tones, and then, erasing some areas to simulate the between the leaves. After that, I paint with the airbrush around the countour of these erased areas.

I really hope you enjoyed this random post hehe

Maybe I will be able to share more related to the classes I prepare for my student in the future!

Have a good night! 🌸
